The Braynt-Denny stadium is decking up for the big day! While Tuscaloosa is all set to welcome the 100,077 people on September 28 evening, it’s important for the fans to take a look at the injury updates. They might not be lucky enough to find their favorite player hit the gridiron this time.

On Wednesday both Kirby Smart and Kalen DeBoer came up with their injury updates. And guess what? The Dawgs seem to be in a deeper soup than Tide. Meanwhile, DeBoer reigned with confidence in his last message where he had been all about his players. Does that mean Smart’s insider’s sly attempt to break Alabama’s morale came off as a boomerang?

Key players missing from Kalen DeBoer and Kirby Smart’s lineup

Saturday evening marks the fifth top-five meeting since 2018 when the No. 4 Crimson Tide will host the No. 1 Bulldogs. And the tradition between the pair only talks of rivalry. Alabama has always been at a dominating edge over Georgia as since Nick Saban’s time the Tide held a 43-26-4 advantage over the Dawgs. So much so that even in the injury updates DeBoer and Co. seem to be in a better place than Smart’s program.

Going by the players’ physical fitness status, three Alabama players’ chances are ‘probable.’ LB Qua Russaw was knocked out of the game against Wisconsin with a lower-leg injury while LB Jeremiah Alexander suffered an injury during the fall camp. DeBoer’s RB Richard Young too suffered a similar fate to Russaw.

Coming to Smart’s Dawgs, the list is pretty long! Three players, including RB Roderick Robinson III who is dealing with a turf toe, WR London Humphreys is fighting a viral infection called mononucleosis and OL who underwent TightRope surgery Tate Ratledge, are all confirmed to be out of the Saturday match-up. The rest three out of four players are now under scrutiny with “questionable status”. They are DL Mykel Williams, WR Sacovie White, and DL Jordan Hall. The only Dawg on “probabale status” is DL Warren Brinson. Maybe karma hit Smart way too hard!

Kirby Smart’s program goes to all extent to undermine Alabama

Smart and his program know very well where they stand against Alabama. During Nick Saban’s era, the Dawgs HC had a really tough time. Well, 1-5 against Alabama and losing 8 out of 9 match-ups against Tide, that’s what the numbers say! While Georgia has no time machine to travel back in the past and fix the numbers, they resorted to plan No.2- Deflate DeBoer and Co.’s spirit.

On the UGA Football on Dawg post, the Georgia insider dropped, “I just don’t know if you can have two head coaches. It’s important for Alabama to be coached by Kalen DeBoer right now. Not by Nick Saban.” But were they successful? Luckily or unluckily no. After all, DeBoer is the GOAT Nick Saban’s successor, knowing very well that they have Saban on speed dial.

“It’s just about celebrating guys like this and uh you know I hope all the fans just understand you know where we’re at right now uh and how we got to this point,” DeBoer oozed with confidence while addressing his tribe one last time for the match-up against Smart’s army. Now let’s see if Kalen DeBoer is the lucky charm for Kirby Smart to break the years-long hiatus against Tide.
