Ashton Jeanty’s rollercoaster Heisman ride

Much before the 2024 season kicked off, Hunter was hailed as the top favorite to land the Heisman trophy. It was then, all of a sudden, Jeanty crashed in like an intruder replacing Colorado’s two-way star in one go. But looks like, it’s now the Boise State RB’s turn to taste the ugly side of competition. Deep down, the Heisman contender too knows how he faltered in his role in their game against San Diego State on November 1 and expressed it through an IG post. The caption of the post read, “Dark Mode🥷🏽” followed by a verse from the Holy Book “- Those who pursue righteousness and love will find, prosperity and honor. Proverbs 21:21.”

Jeanty might be lucky on the field, but off the field, he has the back of his lady love Gabrielle Miller. In the RB’s lowest times, she thought to boost his spirits by dropping a 4-word comment, “Dat boy a dawggg 🐶”

Even though nobody is denying that the Broncos RB did not give his best while facing off against San Diego State, Jeanty could only offer 15 carries rushing 37 yards.  Well, that’s not something the Broncos fans are used to seeing from the RB who earlier was compared to the last three RB winners, including Reggie Bush, Derrick Henry, and Mark Ingram. And it did not take much time for his staggering feat to tumble down his Heisman odds.

Ashton Jeanty feels the pressure as Travis Hunter’s hype grows

The new odds are here! As per FanDuel, right now Deion Sanders’ two-way phenom Hunter leads the charts standing at +150 odds, followed by Oregon Ducks QB Dillon Gabriel and Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward who shares the same position standing at +270 odds. Next up is Jeanty whose Heisman chances are now hanging on a thin string.

The odds have even crossed the 500-mark and are almost nearing 1000s, which is +850 odds. Already Jeanty had been feeling low from the elbow injury that he got while playing against UNLV which continues to bother him as he was spotted wearing a ‘monstrous’ uniform on Friday. Now, seeing at the Buff dual threat’s latest IG story, the Boise State RB must have gone into complete panic mode. But what was there in the story that might have broken Jeanty’s heart into small pieces?

It was a snap and a quote that Travis Hunter shared that was enough to stir Ashton Jeanty. The Buffs’ dual threat was spotted surrounded by legends like GOAT Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, and College GameDay host Kirk Herbstreit. The caption that McAfee went with the snap read, “GREAT to meet the legend, @db3_tip..🗣️🗣️ GO GET THE HEISMAN.” Hey Jeanty fans, can you feel the burn? Your favorite RB must have gone to get some ice for himself!
