Harper Key’s pre-game meet-up with dad Brent Key goes viral

Harper might be just five years old. While she is supposed to be making trips to Disneyland, she is often spotted in the football stadium, rooting for her dad and the Yellowjackets. November 29 was no exception. The lil one was there with her mom Danielle Key at the Sanford Stadium in Athens. Just some random chitchat session with Harper is enough to boost Key! A video from the pre-game catchup routine has gone viral, and the dad-daughter duo is surely going to melt your heart.

In the video, the HC is spotted squatting down to reach his daughter’s height as Harper remains standing and exchanging smiles. She looked like she was waiting for her dad’s reaction as Key was busy inspecting something. By now you must have guessed what the present was—had to be the bracelets she makes for her dad without fail, before every game. Last year too, she gifted Key a beaded “DADA” bracelet and friendship bracelets for his players. And this time another gift came with a bracelet for Key.

A long and tight hug followed by a kiss to her dad that would surely make you go, ‘Awww!’ Looks like there is already too much hate all around; maybe this dose of love from Harper was the need of the hour for Key, who got mentioned in Smart’s fiery tirade.

A war of words between Brent Key and Kirby Smart

Do you know that since 1979, the Bulldogs have won 33 of the last 43 games against the Yellow Jackets? So, it’s obvious that Key is going to be bitter with Smart’s boys. However, fans did not expect things to get this hot! The Georgia Tech HC came up with his unfiltered version without mincing his words when he said, “There’s nothing I hate more in the world. It’s probably the only thing I hate. When I say hate, like, truly despise everything about it. I really do.”

And Smart, being Smart, did not let the rivalry week pass without a sharp retort. Yes, the man definitely keeps himself away from making any foul remark, but his words are surely going to sting Key straight in his heart. And here the Bulldogs HC came up indirectly throwing a shade.

“I think you’re a lot better coach when you stay composed and you coach the players…It’s about what we think and how we play. We have to control that. We have to have a ‘seeking contact’ attitude and enjoyment of a street fight,” commented Kirby Smart. Now that Brent Key’s wrist holds a symbol of love and luck, it’s time for him to ward off the negativity and bring the W to Georgia Tech.
