Carson Beck saw the 2025 season as a clean slate to start things afresh. Wrapping up a four-season chapter at Georgia, racking up 7912 yards and completing 628 of 923 passes and 58 touchdowns, he boarded the Miami Hurricanes wagon. However, chasing a new start, Beck suffered a loss in the NIL front. As reported by Front Office Sports, in January 2025, the QB has secured nearly $10 million in NIL deals combined over the last 12 months. But hardly did Beck imagine that he would lose his NIL footing nearing the end of the 2025 season.

As per the latest On3 reports, Beck stands with a valuation of $3.9 million, and it shows a $387k dip. But things were not so bad back in September. The Miami quarterback completed 20-of-30 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-24 upset win of No. 6 Notre Dame to open the season. Then against Bethune, Beck completed 22 of 24 passes for 267 yards, followed by the quarterback hitting his season high of 340 yards for 3 touchdowns against USF. This helped him to climb the NIL ladder.

Back in the second week of September, On3 had Beck’s value jump 9% this week, adding roughly $400,000 to make it a $4.7 million NIL valuation for the Miami starting quarterback. When Beck took the Hurricanes’ offer, On3’s Pete Nakos shared, “Sources have told On3 that Beck is expected to make roughly $3 to $3.2 million to start this season for the Hurricanes.” However, the quarterback boosted his valuation, as in September, his deal sat at $4.9 million, which back then, trailed only Texas quarterback Arch Manning on the national leaderboard, via On3.

Two months later, Beck now sits at No.4 on On3’s list. Texas quarterback Manning sits at the top at $4.8 million with a $39k raise. The next college football player on the list is the Ohio State Buckeyes’ star Jeremiah Smith at $4.2 million. He is followed by Beck at $3.9 million. But what is the reason behind Beck sliding down the list?

For years, Beck’s résumé was spotless. No four-interception games, no home losses since high school, no stumbles against unranked foes. Then came Louisville heartbreak, and the streaks came crashing down. Things did get better against Stanford, but then came SMU. Against the Mustangs, Beck was mediocre. Beck went 26-of-38 for 274 yards and two scores. But a pair of interceptions, including the one that sealed Georgia’s fate, overshadowed his heroic feat. Looks like the quarterback won’t get much chance to fix his sheet.

Carson Beck’s playoff hopes took a hit amidst Miami’s playoff heartbreak

Talking about Beck and co.’s playoff fate? The College Football Playoff rankings have dropped, and it’s stormy skies for the Hurricanes. Miami sits at No. 18, behind three ACC rivals still in the playoff hunt. The Miami Hurricanes are projected to miss the College Football Playoff after Saturday’s loss to SMU.

The bracket forecasts have Virginia and Memphis sneaking into the playoff mix, the Cavaliers as the ACC’s automatic qualifier at No. 11, and the Tigers as the top Group-of-Five champ at No. 12. And Beck is already losing his footing; it’s going to have a bad impact on his Heisman hopes, too. Beck entered the Miami vs. Louisville game as one of the top Heisman Trophy favorites.

Back then, the quarterback was sailing comfortably with an 11-touchdown record in 5 games. It took him one game to lose all the sparkle. On October 17, Alabama insider Mike Rodak reported on X, “Ty Simpson is now the Heisman co-favorite with Fernando Mendoza on FanDuel.” As per On3’s latest odds, Carson Beck’s odds went down to +2500 right after the Hurricanes’ loss to the Cardinals. The odds were at +350 earlier in that week. If that’s not enough woes for the quarterback to handle, here comes some more.

College football analyst Jason DeLoach shared his most recent data on the “Top 30 FBS QBs Ratings Heading Into Week 10.” Carson Beck’s crown has slipped. DeLoach’s board now shows him trailing Jayden Maiava (3.66) and Haynes King (3.54), with his own rating down to 3.47, a 0.36 drop from his career peak. Will the rest of the season be enough for Beck to bring the spotlight back?
