One of Deiondra Sanders’ core childhood memories will take you back to October 2, 1996. Her daddy, Deion, had springs in his step and was attempting to play both NFL and MLB games on the same day. Deiondra, his oldest, was just six months old then. She grew up at a time when Coach Prime was well into the limelight, and if you were thinking it’s rather cool to have a famous poppa, it’s not always so. “The bitter part is because I was always judged a lot at school. I didn’t have as many friends. I was always traveling with my parents,” she confessed three years ago. Her old man’s legacy got her opportunities, but it would only take her so far: “I, myself, and my hard work is what keeps me there.”

This couldn’t have rung more true for her younger brothers, Shilo and Shedeur. Criticisms in favor of nepotism have always tried to stop them short, but nothing could match up to the kind of reality check the 2025 NFL Draft had to offer. Shedeur declined the invitation to attend it in Green Bay, Wisconsin, just to be in Texas, surrounded by his loved ones. Big sis, Deiondra, was there too.

While Shedeur got drafted in round five—a big drop from the expected Round-1/2 draft, Shilo didn’t get his name called. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers later signed Shilo as an undrafted free agent. Far from ideal, but in the end, things worked out for them. Deiondra, for one, couldn’t have been happier, and in the latest update, she took to Instagram to share her thoughts.

“Surrounded by love and legacy. Watching my brothers get drafted with our family by our side was a moment I’ll never forget. God’s timing is #PerfectTiming —y’all were made for this! So proud, so thankful, so full. #GodIsGood #Legendary,” she wrote, and also shared a carousel of seven images with the family and two short clips of them partying together. Her son, Snow, was present too.

In a picture, Shilo was seen holding his nephew, and in another, viewers saw the three generations chilling on a red couch. There was also a clip from the after-Draft party, where Shedeur, with a microphone, is spotted singing his ‘Perfect Timing’ rap. Flashing a chunky necklace, the Buffs quarterback had Deion Sanders Jr. vibing to the rap. What better reunion than this?

Even through that video, Deiondra posted a message. She recorded someone at the party, holding a placard. It read, “FROM UR SISTERS WE PROUD OF U.” In that way, till the last minute, Deiondra has been there by Shedeur’s side. No expectations, only love and support.

Deiondra Sanders’ fiery comeback after Shedeur got harsh critique!

Deiondra takes pride in Shedeur’s Pro Day feat. After all, the Buffs quarterback didn’t disappoint. Mid-range? Checked. Long passes? Checked. So, Deion’s son came off as the perfect package, all ready for the pro league. In that way, he rained on the ‘nepo baby’ attacks. But at the same time, expectations started to soar. However, Deiondra stood away from the crowd and came with a message for her baby bro earlier this month. She was asked about Shedeur’s potential NFL team and that’s when her message was enough to zip up the trolls.

“I don’t really have a team. I’m just so proud of him for the way he works hard and his work ethic. It’s like he’s done this thing right. You always have my dad to lead you, but you got to want it as well for sure. So, he’s done this thing right. So I’m just proud of him, whatever team he goes to. I just want him to go where he would like to go. That’s the best fit for him, and I’m just proud of him. It doesn’t matter where he goes.” Along with this, she tried her level best not to allow Shedeur’s reputation to get soiled before the big day.

But later, when NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero came up with a detailed summary of what the NFL scouts felt about Shedeur, it led to a lot of discussions among football fans. One NFL assistant coach claimed Shedeur’s was the “worst formal interview ever.” While another one said, “He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks.” And how could Deiondra just let all these harsh comments just slip by?

On April 24, she fired at the critics and wrote, “When the hate don’t work. They start telling lies.” Crowned as Deion Sanders’ No. 1, Deiondra still wears the proud protector badge for her brothers.
