Oh no not again! The Colorado Buffaloes dynamic duo, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter has become distant dudes. While the Buffs fans expected to witness team play as a weapon used to crush the Baylor Bears on September 21, that’s not happening anytime soon. On Saturday Hunter was spotted fuming with anger, surprisingly it was Shedeur who he was upset at.

The reason? The Buffs QB’s attempt to turn the spotlight towards him. But poor Shedeur! Never in his wildest dreams had he thought that one move would cost so heavy. But Shedeur being Shedeur, made up for his mistake by passing the ball to Hunter. Meanwhile, the tiff is not something new between the duo, as fans got a trailer during their pre-season camp.

Travis Hunter’s mid-game meltdown

We have always seen Hunter in a chirpy mood. But September 21 unleashed a different side of the Buffs two-way star. The player was spotted near the side-line with only five minutes left for the third quarter to end. And the ear-to-ear wide grin was missing from his face. Instead, he looked all red with anger. The clip that went viral showed Hunter removing his helmet in frustration and as it could be read from his lip movement, he started yelling the F-word. But what’s the cause behind Hunter’s sudden outburst?

Undoubtedly it’s Shedeur. To the Buffs two-way star, a good game is always determined by true partnership. On Saturday, while against the Bears, Hunter was waiting for the QB to pass the ball, Shedeur might have thought ‘Let’s do it myself.’ But he failed to live up to the expectations and it did cost them points.

And as expected, one wrong move from the QB was enough for the haters to huddle up. One of them stripped him off taking Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson’s name, “YOU ARE NOT LAMAR. THROW THE BALL TO TRAVIS HUNTER YOU BUM SHEDEUR!” But it did not take long for Shedeur to accept his faults and in the end, their team spirit won.

The pre-season scuffle between Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders

Somehow, Hunter too knew that doing things all by himself, Shedeur would fumble. So he had no option other than to yell at the QB. But somehow it stirred Deion’s son at the right time and he obliged to Hunter’s request. During the final moments, Shedeur thought to go with Hunter’s advice, and when the Buffs were down to a final play from midfield, he rolled to his left and heaved a player toward the end zone.

And there at the end zone, there was WR LaJohntay Wester all ready to get his hands on the pigskin and scooped the sinking pass and Colorado Buffaloes kicked the extra point. While this time things did fizzle out under the excitement of ending the 14-year hiatus with a 38-31 victory, things took an ugly turn during the pre-season camp. Back in August during one of their training session, the dynamic duo got into a heated scuffle.

It got bitter when Travis Hunter dropped a brutal jab for the QB, “I’m just going to keep running bro. You’re so slow.” While Shedeur Sanders asked the two-way star to take things slow, Hunter came with a plea to be on “the same page.” He was right as Shedeur too saw how teamwork turns individual efforts into a winning masterpiece.
