Forget focusing on a last-minute game plan! Colorado Buffaloes Deion Sanders was rather glued to his phone to find out the weather forecast. And bad news for the Buffs! September 21 is going to be a rainy day. However, Deion is yet to take the predictions seriously. But why so? Coach Prime just doesn’t trust the local meteorologist!

Or maybe it’s just his way of coping with the sudden surprise from the weather this time. Rain may fall, but Coach Prime isn’t about to let it water down his game plan. After all, he is going to lead the Buffs into the first Big 12 game after a 14-year hiatus.

Deion Sanders brushes off weather worries

On September 17, the Buffs HC sat for an interview without knowing what was coming his way. While reporters raising warnings about the rival players are common, a reporter came up with a rain check morning. But poor Deion! Rain has been out of their syllabus. So much so, that he refused to make peace with the news and instead came up with a counter question for the reporter, “Who do you use straight up?”

To which the reporter confirmed that he went with the local meteorologist. Deion then topped it with his signature sarcastic jab, “There you go…I got 5169. The joke has been accurate.” While it shows that the Buffs HC is worried about the weather turning awry on their special day, he is manifesting that it won’t as he claimed, “I’m one of those good weather man. When you say 60% I say 40% that it won’t.”

Does that mean that Deion and Co. will start prepping up to wade through puddles with wet drills? No way! The Buffs HC would rather “do drills that say, it won’t rain.” No weather app can put a cloud over his game-day spirit. After all, it will be a reunion after 14 LONG YEARS!

Coach Prime eyes for redemption after 2010 defeat

Entering Week 4, the Buffs will play their first in-conference game of the 2024 season. More than that, what makes the coming Saturday more special, is that the last time they faced each other was in 2010. Post-2002, the Buffs did not win a single game against the Bears. Well, it was the Baylors who won their last meeting on October 16, 2010, in Boulder where they crushed the Buffs in front of 48,953 at 63 degrees.

With Deion Sanders at the helm now, the Buffs would leave no chance to flip the narrative. They are all set for a bounce-back as they have already addressed the loopholes. As we all, know if anything that struggled the most in the Boulder hood it is the defense game as it lacked depth and allowed 145.7 rushing yards per game, the Bears are only a bit better.

They average over 167 rushing yards. The only thing that Deion Sanders’ army will have to take care of right at the moment is to protect their QB Shedeur Sanders. After the Colorado State Rams face-off, the Buffs’ offense is coming off pretty well. In case, they can replicate the same heroic feat, the weather might bring the wet, but this parade’s bringing the heat!
