Well, by now, we all know who is Deion Sanders’ favorite out of his five children. Back in December 2024, on Deion Sanders Jr., aka Bucky’s birthday, Deion wrote a heartfelt birthday message. It read, “Happy Birthday to My Favorite Child! He’s the glue that holds everyone together.” Bucky has always been Papa Prime’s shadow, more than being his son. He is Deion’s manager, his cameraman, and the list of roles continues. But looks like Deion Jr. is going to face some serious competition this time, as his dad announced someone as his fourth son. And it’s not the end. This new one though, does not have a ‘Sanders’ behind his name.

It’s none other than former West Virginia Mountaineers star, Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones. Back in June, Deion welcomed Jones to his Texas house, when he was locked up because of his deteriorating health. That’s when Coach Prime wrote a note of gratitude on Instagram, tagging Jones. The message read, “God is so Good, another 1 of my sons came to see me and make certain I’m straight. He also wanted to fish so I was his guide today. Thank u my brother u gave me energy. @realpacman24.” Four months later, here we are again.

On October 2, Jones invited Deion on his Politely Raw podcast. The former cornerback said, “Pop, I love you. I appreciate you for checking in with me.” That’s when Deion showed his concern like a fatherly figure, “I love you, too… How we doing away from the set? We are we good?…There you go. Cuz I ain’t got no phone calls lately, so I’m I guess we good.” After which, Deion reiterated how he sees Jones as his other son. “I love this man to life. I really do. And everybody knows he’s like a son to me. He really is that fourth son…He’s the first son because he’s older than Bucky.”

Fifteen years ago, the now Buffs head coach took him under his wing as a mentor. At the time, Jones’s NFL career was on thin ice. Deion, a newly minted Hall of Famer, reminded him how quickly doubt can ruin opportunity. “I texted Pacman: ‘Take that junk down on your Instagram. You are a free agent, man,’’’ the Buffs head coach said, offering tough love to protect the young player. Now that Deion had met with his fourth son, Deion Jr. did not expect what was coming for him.

Pacman Jones teases Deion Sanders’ firstborn in good fun

After Deion called him his first son, Jones played along just to pull Deion Jr.’s leg a little. It turns out that the duo tried their hands at playing some sport when Jones visited Deion during the time he was unwell. So, he could not let go of the opportunity. In the latest episode of his podcast, Jones threw an open challenge for Deion’s firstborn. “Hey, matter of fact, tell Bucky to start working on his back swing, cuz he got smashed the last time, by the way,” said the podcast host.

However, amidst all this fun, Deion Jr. ensures to be dad’s backbone. The Colorado Buffaloes’ next mission is to woo five-star blue-chip recruit JayQuan Snell. The 2027 sensation is widely considered one of the best young defensive backs in the country. Snell shared a note of gratitude on X upon receiving an offer from Colorado. #AGTG Extremely blessed and honored to receive an offer from the University of Colorado Boulder!!” he wrote.

And what better chance for Bucky to jump into the recruiting race and reduce the burden off Deion’s shoulders? Resharing the tweet, Deion Jr. wrote, “Come be legendary.” Meanwhile, it’s highly likely Bucky will not feel threatened by Jones’ playful jabs.

That’s because Deion Sanders never fails to make his firstborn feel special. Back in August, Coach Prime rewarded his eldest son with a double surprise. He gifted Bucky two sneakers. A collab one, Nike Diamond Turf with a Well Off Forever branding on the heel, and a black DT 92 pair. Bucky has nothing to worry about as Deion and Pacman continue to joke around on their shows.
