Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes are not only about their players and coaches. Their fans are the backbone of the program. After all, they are proud of their oldest fan, Miss Peggy Coppom. She is 99-years-old! While others of her age would like to spend their senile years strolling around the garden, Coppom in no way falls in that group. Till today, she has this energy that fuels the Buffs. So much so that Deion even dished out a funny claim about his mother, Connie Knight, setting Coppom’s energy as the standard. Now that the superfan is going to hit a milestone, the Buffs HC doubled down on his vow.

Yes, the Buffs fan base is so diverse that it’s difficult for them to give undivided attention to any one of them. And here enters Coppom and she has been the absolute favorite of Deion’s army. Folks, she is 99, NINETY NINE! At her age, most of us would not even be able to sit straight and watch the game. And here is Coppom who ensures to raise the Buffs game fever with her physical presence in the stadium. Thus, on November 12, Deion switched into a ‘Praise Coppom’ mode during a press conference and stated that she meant “EVERYTHING” to the program.

Even being decades apart did not stop her from spreading “unspeakable joy.” At this age, she is very particular about the little things as Deion came up with a funny comment dragging his mom Connie into the conversation, “The remembrance of certain little things that she may say just her asking me about my mother.” That’s when the Buffs HC came up with a joke as he quipped, “I told my mother the other day Peggy would beat you in the 40. I’m telling you because I know she’s going to get out the hole and you’re not going to catch her.” But looks like age is now playing an ugly role.

Deion’s army crushed the Cincinnati Bearcats on October 26. But poor Coppom! She failed to make it to Folsom Field. Later the Buffs HC shared the reason behind her absence that broke the fans’ hearts before the big day, her 100th birthday, “Peggy is fighting Covid right now. We wanted to give her love and appreciation and present her with the game ball.” So this makes the Buffs HC way more desperate to keep his big promise.

Deion Sanders is all set to make Peggy Coppom’s dream come true

After all, the super fan has done so much for the program. Back in May, when Deion and co. dived into their mission to land 5-star QB commit Julian Lewis, Coppom had played a big role. Even though she couldn’t meet her favorite JuJu physically, she ensured that her message reached him. She came up with a video recording where she was seen trying to win Lewis’ heart, “Juju I have been cheering for this Colorado Buffs team for 84 years and I’m getting tired of being a good loser. I would love to be a good winner. So come on out here and play for us and help us win.”

So, it’s obvious Deion is going to bring her the stars or her. Back then he had promised the special fan to show her the Super Bowl. Looks like the Buffs HC is very serious about living up to his words. During the press conference, Coach Prime thus stated, “I was really dedicated to get Peggy to a bowl game. Now we trying to get Peggy to the game. Yeah, it was a bowl game. Now it’s the game.” Well, now that Coppom turns 100 years next week, things are actually turning in Colorado’s favor as well.

The 34-23 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats has handed Deion Sanders’ boys a confirmed ticket to the bowl. This is the third time in a span of 17 years that they are bowl-eligible. Now that everything falls into place, the Buffs better grab hold of the opportunity and gift 100-year-old superfan Peggy Coppom the best gift of her lifetime.
