As long as HC Deion Sanders is around, there’s never a dull moment for the Colorado Buffaloes. Coach Prime is always there, spreading good juju and injecting the vibe booster. The Buffs are yet to face the Matt Rhule’s Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, September 7 night. But so what? Deion is already counting on a highlight reel.

Buffs fandom too is on standby for a thriller after Colorado’s heroic feat against the North Dakota State had broken all records. And guess what will be TRP for the Saturday face-off? It will be Shedeur Sanders vs. the Patrick Mahomes clone face-off

Deion Sanders turns up the heat ahead of the Big Bash

Ever since Deion stepped foot into Boulder, he has been used to the massive hype that Buffs enjoy. However, often it gets a bit tough to handle so much of expectations. But not Coach Prime! Instead, Deion tries to further add up to the hype. On September 5, in an interview with host Mark Johnson, the Buffs HC dropped a bold claim to sprinkle some extra spice into the fan frenzy. He started with, “When we come, it’s phenomenal. It’s bigger than ever.”

And here Deion came with the much-needed boost before Saturday’s Big Bash, “I am pretty sure this game is going to be rated like crazy just like last game superseded the last 10 years…I think it’s going to be double that.” Wondering what’s the Buffs HC is talking about?

On August 29, Deion’s army had turned Tim Polasek’s North Dakota State into mere specks of dust. While fans were too preoccupied with Travis Hunter’s hat-trick of touchdowns and Shedeur Sanders’ 445 yards record, the numbers were equally enticing for the broadcasting platforms.

Colorado’s heroic feat drove ESPN and ABC viewership records skyward

Both ESPN and ABC were up double digits over their last season’s view records. ESPN’s Nielsen-rated networks that air college football- ESPN, ABC, and ESPNU all combined averaged some great numbers. So much so that the August 31 opener was the most-viewed day of college football, EVER on ESPN+! As per the reports, “Colorado’s win over North Dakota State averaged 4.8M viewers, peaking at 5.6M. It was ESPN’s best Thursday opener in seven years and up 49% over last season’s.”

The Buffs did get a premonition about their incoming dominance in terms of views when Deion Sanders played it big in revving up their media value. Under Coach Prime’s tutelage, CU gained over $340 million in media value that, before his entry, was limited to a two-digit figure, $87 million. While opening matches often pull in the views, what makes Deion so confident about the upcoming match against Rhule’s army?

Last season, Deion Sanders and Co. crushed the Cornhuskers and grabbed the 36-14 victory. Now that Buffs’ dynamic duo Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are in their best form, there is hardly any chance for Colorado’s plan to falter. Plus, it’d be a cherry on top for Colorado to humble Rhule’s QB Dylan Raiola, the self-proclaimed Patrick Mahomes 2.0!
