Deion Sanders’ gift-giving ability is always on point! So what, his long snapper is new in the Buffaloes hood? Coach Prime became his genie and ensured to make his first year in Boulder extra-special. It was in May that the player committed to the Buffs and he has already made it into Deion Sanders’ list of favorites as Coach Prime grants his big wish.

Of course, he deserves this gift. After all, he had been the biggest supporter of whitewashing Colorado’s image when Coach Prime and Co. were in a rough patch. However, this is not the first time the Buffs HC opened his hands, as he once gifted sunglasses to his entire roster.

Deion Sanders’ heartfelt gift for his long-snapper comes to light

Deion made the best use of the 2024 transfer portal and landed the Arizona long snapper Kameron Hawkins. The 5-foot-11, 220-pounder had appeared only two games for the Wildcats, yet has showcased his prowess to be ranked as the fifth prospect at his position nationally while at Orange Lutheran HS. Now that Hawkins is part of Deion’s army, Coach Prime is guaranteed to treat Hawkins like a rockstar. “Thank you, Coach Prime,” is all that the prodigy could say as he flashed a wide ear-to-ear grin now after being moved by Deion’s heartfelt gesture.

Owning the pair has been a dream for many. After all, it’s the much-hyped Air DT’98 max that offers versatility and a sleek look that pays homage to the 90s style. Nike had dropped the Diamond Turf cleats this year itself and had kept the color-blocking honest with Deion Sanders’ logos on the pull tabs at the tongue. But what makes Hawkins so special?

When during the transfer season, the Buffs were dragged through dirt for allegedly playing for “clicks”, Hawkins stood in Colorado’s defense and claimed, “I think it’s a pro, honestly. Just for the amount of exposure that you can implement on social media nowadays. I don’t see no cons.” Earlier, too, Deion had splurged into a gifting spree. However, at that time it was a part of his marketing strategy.

Deion Sanders’ stylish revenge

Last season, before the Buffaloes’ Week 3 matchup against rival Colorado State, Deion got bashed critically by HC Jim Norvell. Without taking the Buffs HC’s name, Norvell took shots at him, “When I talk to grownups, I take my hat and glasses off, that’s what my mother taught me.” It did not take much time for Deion to reply, “It was just gonna be a good game, but they done messed around and made it … PERSONAL.”

And guess what? Coach Prime came up with a master plan. He turned the personal attack into a marketing move. He gifted his entire team the sunglasses, which happened to be the Blender Eyewears’ Prime 21 sunglasses. If you think that only the ones on the Colorado Buffaloes roster are lucky to receive gifts from Deion, then you are mistaken.

At the beginning of this year, it was the award-winning recording artist, DJ Khaled, who received the most-talked-about Nike Air DT Max ’96 which was yet to be launched in the market. Now DJ Khaled and Kameron Hawkins have the same pairs. How cool is that?
