The 2024 season is knocking at the door! However, this didn’t stop Deion Sanders from giving an off to his coaches and players. But why did he hit the snooze button in practice? Just because Coach Prime wants his roster to invest in something important. If you think it’s college football, then you must be mistaken. Here, Deion’s true mankind gets unleashed when he encourages the Buffs to support the women’s team which is about to hit the soccer field. The Buffs HC’s love for other sports looks like a side effect of him being a dual-sport talent.

Deion is not ready to do any wrong this time. He thus makes the most of the training practices. And a lot of Coach Prime’s mentorship is dependent on his vocal tonic As captured by Reach The People Media, August 17 was no different. His pep talk gave the players a turbo charge as he demanded, “Give me the word of the day.” And the players started to pour their one-word mantras for this season- “execute,” “focus,” attentiveness,” “physical detail,” and “smart.” After this, hardly did the players expect to get a freebie when Deion surprised them with, “Sunday all day right coach Sunday off day.”

That doesn’t mean that the Buffs could laze around as Coach Prime has assigned them with a vital duty. The Colorado football team will make landfall on Sunday to cheer for the women’s soccer team. The Buffs HC is very particular about how the players respect women. And now Deion has laid out the day’s plan for the players to propel them towards great acts, “We’re going to go and support the ladies all right? The soccer team we’re going to go support the ladies.” This is not something new for Colorado as the Buffs HC encouraged the players to follow their legacy to perform duties other than just investing in football, “We did it last year, we’re going to take role there.” And here comes the big message from the Buffs HC, “Give us that Sunday. Let’s support our other sports.” But what makes him compassionate towards other sports?

Deion Sanders, a multi-sport legend

The big reason is that Deion himself is a multi-sport athlete. His primary focus was football and he bagged 19 defensive and return touchdowns along with a record of 53 interceptions during his NFL stint. Even though, for his contribution as an NFL player, the now-Buffs HC earned the Pro Football Hall of Fame honors along with becoming a two-time Super Bowl champion, he did leave an impact in the baseball sport as well.

He created a rage in MLB for parts of nine seasons. Deion’s talent in the baseball sport landed him with multiple programs and the list continues- Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, and San Francisco Giants. And MLB fans still remember Deion’s hit parade during the 1992 World Series when he crushed the Toronto Blue Jays.

During that series, Deion engraved his name in MLB history with a combined .533 batting average as well as swiped five bags. This added to his overall streak of a .982 fielding percentage in 641 total games. It’s Deion’s multi-sport mojo that makes his players cheer for every sport.
