Enough of analyst POVs. Podcast host Will Compton knows how to do it with a unique touch. On October 15, he hosted his biggest guest- former President and a candidate in the current Presidential race, Donald Trump! The brain behind “Bussin’ with the Boys” along with his ex-Tennessee Titan teammate Taylor Lewan brought in Trump who was all gaga over Nebraska Cornhuskers. A big fan of ex-Huskers HC Tom Osborne, he came up with a heartfelt message for the former coach. And then there was a surprise! The current HC Matt Rhule was mentioned in the speech too. But wait! Since when did Trump become so obsessed about the Huskers? The former President used to be all about Bama, after all.

As Trump graced the show with his presence, the discussion had to be multifaceted. And of course, it did. From policies to football, the ex-President discussed it all. But then it wouldn’t be a true Bussin’ with the Boys episode without a touch of controversy, right? So here Compton did the honors by serving Trump with a loaded question, “Make America Great Again, would you say that involves the Nebraska Cornhuskers winning a national title?” Knowing that the Huskers are 5-1 moving into Week 8 and will be facing off against Indiana, Trump dropped in with, “You know I love Nebraska. Great people, I won by the state by 20 points.”

Besides what makes the Huskers so dear to him? Well, it had to be the man who had held the reigns for so long. “You had a great football coach for many years who was a silent person,” stated Trump as he confessed how nobody talks about the former HC. The ex-President began his heartfelt speech, “Very unusual right? You know who I’m talking about? So, Tom Osborne was a great coach and he was a silent coach.” But why did he call Osborne silent? Well, the ex-HC has been on the helm for 25 long seasons and all thanks to him since without him the Huskers would not have been able to mount the 255-49-3 record – the sixth-most wins in major college history. Yet he kept his achievements lowkey.

Which Prospects should OSU target next?

Let Tony do the scouting, you just make the pick.

But that doesn’t mean the present HC took a backseat in Trump’s moving address. Initially, Huskers struggled during Osborne’s absence but the ex-President is quite sure about the new HC as he states, “But now they’ve got Matt Rhule.” What’s more surprising is the fact that Trump has always been known as a die-hard Bama fan.

Donald Trump’s SEC tradition

Trump has been a common face in the stands whenever Alabama hits the gridiron. Before November, when the US will elect its 47th president, he, being the nominee used the high-voltage SEC clash between Georgia Bulldogs and Crimson Tide perhaps to gain attention. On September 28, Trump graced the Bryant Denny Stadium, now known as the Saban field. However, this is not something new and has become somewhat of a ritual.

Back in 2017, during the BCS National Championship game between the Dawgs and Bama, Trump made his presence felt. This time around, he was joined by notable faces like Kid Rock and John Daly, as well as Alabama Sens. This came off as an unexpected move since Trump’s life was already under threat with reports of the second assassination attempt on him doing rounds.

But this did not stop Donald Trump from rooting for his favorite team. Alabama too made some major security changes as per the requirements of the US Secret Service agents. The security lines were shoulder-to-shoulder for the entire 2.5 hours before kickoff. However, his visit did not sit well with all fans since some of them believed that the ex-President made it all about his own campaign rally.
