Nobody tells you how hard it is to be on the same team as your dad. Particularly when you will have to think twice about how to address your dad now that you have put on the jersey. That’s how difficult it is for Colorado Buffs HC Deion Sanders and his son Shedeur. However, Deion has brilliantly aced the juggling act between two personas- one that of Coach Prime and another Shedeur’s dad. The only father-son duo other than Deion-Shedeur who feels the pain is LeBron James and his son Bronny James who too adhere to strict rules. But maybe it’s the Buffs HC and son Shedeur who are graded on a different scale no matter how good their intentions are.

When Deion and Shedeur are on the same boat, it goes without saying that there would be “favoritism” allegations on the Buffs HC. However, with time, Coach Prime has somewhat gotten used to it. But it did not come easy. Deion had to make some changes to even the most minute actions. For instance, on the gridiron, he is no longer Shedeur’s dad but only his coach. In an interview with Romi Bean, at Week 7: Coach Prime’s Playbook, the host asked whether he wears his Dad hat and Coach hat one at a time. To which came Deion’s reply, “Oh I always.”

Then how does he deal with switching gears that have got a lot to do other than mere accessories? “When the game starts I leave the dad hat off yeah like when we walk down our sideline I’m dad when we come back I’m coach so the dad had is off now,” he replied. Doesn’t it sound similar? Well, for the NBA fans it does.

This is something that NBA King, LeBron too strictly follows. On Uninterrupted’s The Shop, the legend answered one of the most curious questions that do rounds among fans: Can Bronny call LeBron “dad” in the locker room, practice, and games? It’s the same scenario everywhere. “[He] cannot call me dad in the workplace. Once we leave out the private facility and the gates close, I could be dad again [and] in the car if we ride together, at home I could be dad,” clarified LeBron. However, even with a manual on ‘How to Separate Work and Dad Mode,’ Deion’s playbook still got misread!

Deion Sanders’ tough love for son Shedeur sparks online buzz

A video has been doing rounds on social media. It showed Deion not quite in a peppy mood talking with Shedeur on the sidelines. It definitely came off as a “heated exchange” clearly showing how the Buffs QB might have faltered by making some wrong moves on the gridiron. Going by the conversation it hints that Shedeur might have held the pigskin for too long which made Deion shout at him, “Grown. Throw the Ba-l Away.” And haters being haters made the best use of the scoop.

Rather than scouting what made Coach Prime angry, they came up with their own narrative and tweeted the video with the caption, “A Heated Exchange. Coach Prime wasn’t happy with #2 holding onto the ba-l, resulting in a sack.” But Deion didn’t let the haters tackle him.

Instead, he snapped back at them with a retweet, “My brother we don’t have heated exchanges. There’s a level of respect the player & the son never crosses. This is good ole footba-l & coaching. Good try tho.” That’s how Deion Sanders is running both plays flawlessly nailing dad duties and coaching like a pro!
