Week 10 left Lincoln Riley with no good memories. Forget memories; the USC Trojans HC now finds him in the hot seat after losing to the Washington Huskies 26-21 on November 2. Poor Riley! Maybe he had high expectations from Saturday’s game since the last time USC defeated No.4 Washington was eight years ago in 2016. Turns out that Paul Finebaum’s fear just came true. Meanwhile, their playoff dreams hit a nose dive as their main man of the evening, QB Miller Moss, failed to make some good action. This was enough for Trojans fans to go into full panic mode as they vented out their anger on social media.

November 2 has been a long, cold night for Riley’s Trojans. The rain and the freezing lake wind tested the nation’s No.1 pass defense and came up with a struggling quarterback. Even though the Trojans took the lead eventually, they got ground by the Huskies’ defense. As usual, Riley’s boys had been late to take advantage and after driving most of the field in less than a minute, they had faced fourth down. To further add to their woes, there was their star signal-caller.

Moss struggled to move the offense and threw 50 passes, the third time to hit the 50 mark. But what about the yards? That’s where the QB lost his fans, as he only managed to tally 293 yards, along with two interceptions, on all those attempts. Well, let’s go back to two weeks ago.

The ESPN analyst did not have to wait till November 2 to arrive at a conclusion as far as Riley and Co.’s playoff hopes are concerned. Back in October, Finebaum stated on The Matt Barrie Show, “We’re sitting here in mid-October. You’ve got three losses, and you’re out of the playoffs.” But who would have made Riley understand that? The Trojans HC seems to have a soft corner for Moss.  So even though the QB had not been spectacular, Riley has been “hundred percent” sure about Moss as the starting QB. All these led to getting thrown under the bus by the fans now.

Fans turn out to be too enraged to forgive Lincoln Riley and QB Miller Moss

It’s not that the fans were at odds with the QB since the beginning. After all, Moss did not give them any scope since he had completed over 70% of his passes in the first two games of the year. But eventually, his stats dropped to only 61.9%. Riley very well knew about his signal-caller’s weak points and is now bearing the consequences for turning a blind eye. This made an upset fan comment, “And that’s why you can’t depend on Miller Moss and this pass protection.”

The Trojans had flown to the Husky Stadium in Seattle. Now that they witnessed an embarrassing loss there, fans no longer want them in Southern California, “Leave Lincoln Riley and Miller Moss in Seattle.” Following USC’s 29-28 loss to Maryland, Riley was given a heads-up to replace Moss with USC backup QB Jayden Maiava. So a fan chose to remind the HC about his miscalculation, “Idk what he has on Lincoln Riley but Miller moss s-cks. USE JAYDEN! Someone who actually can pass AND MOVE. Unlike moss who can’t throw unless he has 10 seconds to decide.”

Another fan too is biting his nails off in regret of not going forward with the backup QB, “I HIGHLY DOUBT JAYDEN MAIAVA BLOWS ALL THEM REDZONE CHANCES MILLER MOSS AND RILEY HAD TONIGHT🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️‼️ @USCJ32 @LincolnRiley @uscfb” The Trojans have given fans so much back-to-back trauma that they don’t even want to see the faces of the HC-QB duo, “Leave Lincoln Riley and Miller Moss in Washington they both s-ck so much.” Let’s hope that Lincoln Riley can pull down his blindfolds about QB Miller Moss soon!
