The day after the Georgia Bulldogs’ win against Texas came a big mishap. Their then-quarterback Carson Beck got blessed by the Injury Gods. But hardly did the Bulldogs expect that Beck had played his last game in Athens. After that, the redshirt senior announced his intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft on his Instagram account, forgoing a final year of eligibility. But turns out that he soon changed his mind and had hit a U-turn to return to football. However, Beck refused to fly back to his old nest. Instead chose to be a part of Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes. But, there too, the pressure to perform was huge on the injured QB. Finally, now that Beck is back on track, the Miami fans can sleep in peace. And what about his fam and squad?
But first things first: What happened to Carson Beck? His season was cut short during the SEC Championship Game against Texas when he sustained an injury to his right elbow on the final play before halftime. While in no time, Georgia replaced him with Gunner Stockton, the backup’s helmet came off. This forced Beck to make a comeback on the gridiron for a game-winning handoff to running back Trevor Etienne. In December 2024, he underwent surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL). However, he was ruled out for the College Football Playoff. Then he found a new home, and Beck was expected to make a full recovery and resume throwing in spring. However, his recovery process was slow, and he was not deemed fit to throw, even in the spring.

Before their spring game, Coach Cristobal confirmed, “[Beck] won’t throw in the spring game.” Even though the quarterback was progressing ahead of pace, the head coach said, he has been limited to handing the ball off and taking mental reps to prepare him to lead OC Shannon Dawson’s offense. But finally, the day has come for which Beck’s fans have been waiting with bated breath.
On May 14, the quarterback posted a short clip on his Instagram story. It showed him attempting a pass. Beck was with the Hurricanes for the spring workouts, going through formations and learning systems — albeit without doing any throwing. He is expected to be full-go when the Hurricanes open training camp in late July. And his biggest cheerleaders can no longer keep calm.
Now, who is a bigger supporter than one’s mom? Carson’s mother, Tracy Beck, must be feeling emotional right now after seeing his struggle through the injury day. Now, without missing a beat, she dropped the comment, “YESSSS SiR!🔥” The next one from his fam to hold a cheering placard was his sister, Kylie Beck. As usual, Kylie is the first one to cheer her brother up. This time she commented, “BATMAN back at it !!!” But were the comments only from his family? No. Even Beck’s former team buddy, Georgia quarterback Ryan Puglisi, dropped in to hype his old bud up. He wrote, “BRUCE WAYNNNNEEEE.” Now that spring is over, what about Beck’s summer plans?

Carson Beck’s journey from blur to breakthrough
Well, no injury comes with a sweet feeling. Carson Beck has shared what he went through right at that unfortunate moment. “No, I mean that’s a lot. I don’t even think I’ve really thought about it since it’s happened until this moment in time. But feel like that whole day was just a blur in the first place.” The effect continued till the next day as the quarterback confessed, “Like I really don’t even remember that day leading up to it.” However, the time has come for Beck to replace the ugly memories at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium with a new memory at a new stadium.
Cristobal had a press meet at the ACC spring practice. That’s when he gave a green signal to the quarterback to show his skills on the gridiron this summer. “He’s good to go. He’s exceeding every benchmark.” Now, what about the analysts? Here enters Joel Klatt. The FOX Sports analyst had curated a post-spring Top 25 rankings. In that list, Miami got the No.18 rank. And what about their quarterback?

On Beck’s return, he said, “So I like it but I’m also concerned, and it has to make you be a little bit nervous. I know he’s played a lot of football, so you’re not worried about like, reps and experience, but reps with this group become a question.” The clock’s ticking. Will the quarterback rise or fold under the pressure?
