We’re all glued to athletes’ glamorous lives—their fame, their fortune, and of course, their love lives. These guys are often seen pampering their sweethearts with lavish vacations, luxury gifts, and whatnot! Sadly, there is a dark side to it as well. And right now, who knows it the best other than LSU Tigers QB Garrett Nussmeier and his girlfriend Ella Springfield?

After all, the lovebirds will now be miles apart after Nussmeier decided to be part of another chapter with the Tigers. Sadly, Springfield has some other plans. But the anxiety of being in an LDR can wait. For now, Nussmeier’s sweetheart is busy praising her ‘favorite human.’ Sadly, it’s not the LSU QB.  

Nussmeier’s lady love’s heartfelt post for someone special

Looks like Springfield has already made up her mind to leave LSU. After all, she will be chasing her dreams now after she graduates from LSU this December. The young lady will be holding a degree in marketing and a concentration in sales. So, even before Nussmeier confirmed his return to LSU, Springfield had already made a farewell post on December 7. The caption read, “Came for the player, stayed for the lifelong memories and friendships made. #foreverlsu.” Yes, definitely Springfield is going to miss her beau, Nussmeier. But for now, it’s for someone else that she posted a heartfelt IG story. The caption read, “My favorite human. I love doing life with you.” And guess who that is?

Springfield’s IG story is a reshared post where Nussmeier’s ladylove is spotted with another young lady. That’s none other than Ashlynn Nussmeier, Garrett Nussmeier’s sister. Looks like both of them share some strong bonds. From watching concerts together to having a blast on Springfield’s 21st birthday, Ashlynn seems to play an important role in her brother’s girlfriend’s life. 

So, for Springfield, now the pain got double to leave Baton Rouge, to stay away both from boyfriend and dear pal. But at least she can be happy for Nussmeier from afar, seeing how well he’s doing.

A season of redemption for Garrett Nussmeier 

With the dominoes falling here and there and the transfer portal taking shape, the Tigers fans were already prepared for the worst to happen. Yes, they knew for sure that Nussmeier was going to pay farewell to the Tigers. Well, they can’t be blamed, right? After all, it works from the trauma that Bryce Underwood left them with after flipping to Michigan. But looks like Nussmeier is a pro at changing the plot. 

On Wednesday, December 11, he announced that he’s returning to Brian Kelly’s program for his redshirt senior season. The 22-year-old posted a video stating, “I feel like my time at LSU is not over. I am officially announcing that I am returning for my final year of eligibility, and I am fully committed to bringing this university a championship.” The caption of the post was more intriguing. 

It read, “Jeremiah 29:11,” the Bible verse. Running high on faith, Garrett Nussmeier is all set to take the reins of the Tigers. Here comes a sweet history of LSU quarterbacks making a return for the second season as starters. And what’s that? Both Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels reaped great fruits, winning the Heisman Trophy in their fifth season. Let’s hope Nussmeier too gets a chance to embed his name in the Tigers’ history.
