Finally, after a long stretch of dark days, Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs got a silver lining. All thanks to the Hall Of Famer for coming up with the much-needed ‘top dog’ boost ahead of the 2024 kickoff. The 2024 season is indeed going to be special since it’s the first-ever-12 team College Football Playoff. But things were quite hard on Smart’s end.

After all, the Georgia HC lost back-to-back players who got tangled in legal woes and had been put behind bars. However, the Bulldogs’ giant RB room did instill hope. It further came up with a green pass from the legend, leaving fans doing a happy dance on social media.

Despite the setbacks, HOF gives a shoutout to Kirby Smart’s squad

For July, Smart and his program have witnessed only lows. On July 26, the Bulldogs wide receiver Rodarius “Rara” Thomas had been held on multiple family violence charges. Not just Rara, in July itself, two other players had been cuffed- Georgia offensive lineman Bo Hughley and linebacker Smael Mondon who fell in legal trouble for exceeding speed limits while driving. Since January 2023, 29 individuals, staff and players included in Smart’s program have been arrested for something or the other. While the Georgia HC had been spending sleepless nights, here enters Desmond Howard with a feel-good injection. “Georgia is still the top dog in the SEC,” the ESPN analyst dropped the bold statement.

And Howard has good enough reasons to say so. Before him, it was the UGA Football on Dawg Post podcast host Dean Legge who stated, “Looks like the running backs are all healthy from what I can tell.” The notable phenoms to be mentioned are Nate “Electric” Frazier, the dynamic back who has the rarest combination of power and speed. Dwight Phillips (Jr.) is another big name for the 2024 season after he clocked in a swift 10.43 100-meter time. No matter what might be the reason, the Bulldogs fans are on cloud nine.  

Dawg Nation rejoices to Desmond Howard’s vote of confidence

Not just the RB room, Smart has lived up to his surname by whipping a smart move. The Georgia HC landed the five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry. All these reasons combined made fans confident and on the same page with Howard as one of them pitched in with, “I agree that Georgia is the top Dawg in the NATION!!” When it’s football, there is no time for second doubts for the rivals to beat the Bulldogs as another enthusiastic fan assured, “In football, yes!”

Besides this, Smart brilliantly revamped his roster by not only focussing on their QB Carson Beck, which would definitely give him an edge among the top competitors as a fan brought in a wider landscape, “In the “Nation!” The energy to witness their favorite Bulldogs soar to glory is electric, as another fan is all hyped up and comes up with a “Yessir” salute.
