Looks like Indiana Hoosiers actually landed a jackpot by hiring HC Curt Cignetti! The man never loses a chance to flex. But it’s hard to hate Cignetti. After all, the HC is not only about his big words but ensures to walk the talk! The Hoosiers are 10-0 at the moment. Can you even imagine that? All thanks to Cignetti for gifting a new life to Indiana. On the flip side, it’s time for Ohio State Buckeyes HC Ryan Day to shake hands with the Hoosiers HC, who now joins his rank after making Sherrone Moore’s Michigan Wolverines pack their bags and leave on Saturday, November 9.

Remember the time when Cignetti dropped a bold claim about himself, “I win. Google me.” Looks like the man worked hard for the day when people would actually google him. That too happened in his first year in Bloomington. The No.8 Indiana is going strong with a 10-0 undefeated streak after they crushed the Wolverines into mere specks of dust with their 20-15 win. Right after the game ended, it was natural for Cignetti to get flocked up by reporters who had been waiting for the scoop. And yes, as expected, he landed another incredible sound bite.

Talking to a CBS Sports reporter right after the win, Cignetti sounded calm even though he was understandably giddy when he questioned the reporter, “What are we, 10-0?” When the reporter came up with the obvious reassurance, “You are 10-0 for the first time in program history coach,” the HC dropped with a two-word reply, “Not bad.” That’s how you flex, folks! No bombarding long statements; Cignetti knows how to keep things short and sweet. After all, this is his first time too.

The Hoosiers were the last Big Ten program to have never witnessed a 10-win season coming into 2024. Can you imagine, from 2021-2023, they had just nine wins combined? And here, leaving his post at James Madison and replacing Tom Allen, Cignetti gifted the Indiana fans TEN wins in only ONE season! The HC will now get to rest for a short time as they will be having a bye-week before heading to Columbus to face Day’s Ohio State. But looks like Day has already locked himself up, getting a taste of Cignetti’s rage.

How Curt Cignetti ousts Ryan Day from the top spot

Day now lands in a sticky spot after Ohio State lost to the Oregon Ducks. Already he and his team had been thrown under the bus where Cignetti’s Hoosiers are now held as benchmark. For instance, on The Locked on Buckeyes podcast, analyst Jay Stephens dished out a harsh comment for Day: “If the Buckeyes don’t get results, there’s a problem. There’s a massive problem, because this defense is way too talented, even though they got embarrassed on Saturday (against Nebraska) in Bloomington, Indiana.”

That’s what you call power. For so long, the Ohio State HC had maintained a permanent seat as the HC to start tenure 10-0 at Big 10 school. Well, you might remember Day’s impressive start at Ohio State. In his first two seasons as head coach, he led the Buckeyes to undefeated conference records. This followed their 2013 undefeated regular season (12-0). But poor Day, it’s time for him to leave the seat.

As CBS Sports posted an interesting table, it had the names of the head coaches who made it to the top for maintaining a 10-0 streak. Until now, Ryan Day was the last coach to have achieved it. But no more. After the massive win against Michigan, it’s time for Indiana HC Curt Cignetti to sit at the top of the table. Maybe next time, Ohio State Buckeyes fans!
