Oh no! Ryan Williams just got snubbed. Hold on, folks! It’s not what you are thinking. The Alabama Crimson Tide star did not land in any new trouble. However, unlike his teammates, Williams is ineligible to vote in US elections, which has led to some teasing from his peers. After all, he is just a year older than Sweet 16 and is yet to enter the legal age to cast his vote. Even though Williams is all bubbly, sharing memes on social media, deep down he too knows that suddenly there is a lot more on his plate for the recent mishap in the Tuscaloosa hood.
Considering his electrifying feat on the gridiron, it’s hard for many to believe that Kalen DeBoer’s true freshman WR, Williams, is only 17 years old. The only two-time Mr. Football in Alabama history has never been made to feel left out. But sadly this time around, as all his team members are excited to make their voice heard by voting in the 2024 Presidential Election, Williams would probably have to stay alone, practicing for the upcoming match. That was enough for a meme to go viral. It was DeBoer’s defensive back Jaylen Mbakwe who posted the meme and tagged the WR.

The meme showed a man standing in an empty hallway as the caption read, “ryan williams in the football facilities while everyone else is out voting.” And obviously it made its way to the WR, who then took a screenshot and re-shared the story on his IG with a humorous caption, “Where you all at? 😂” Well, it seems the wait is pretty long until Williams replies to the people who are trolling him for his age.
In fact, the WR will have to wait until the 2028 presidential election. But by then, he’ll not only be eligible to vote but will also be taking a major step forward in his career. And the hype surrounding him is already building!

Ryan Williams is about to step up in a time of need
At only 17, Williams has been the leading receiver of DeBoer’s tribe when he was still supposed to be in high school. Still not convinced about Williams’ superpower? Here Alabama Insider Clint Lamb gave a rundown of the WR’s powerful feat: “Ryan Williams is on pace for 1,140 yards and 16 touchdowns in just 12 regular season games. The craziest part? He’s only on pace for 40 catches. His four touchdowns have come from 84, 55, 43, and 31 yards out.” He is already convinced of the fact that the freshman “could play in the NFL right now.” That’s a big claim altogether, isn’t it?

Now Williams will have to face the ultimate test of being more than just a pass catcher. The Crimson Tide WR Cole Adams will be out for the year now after getting injured for the second time this season, this time in his lower body. In that case, being the top returner of the team, Williams will be the ideal replacement. Finally, the desperation to sign him paid off, right?

Well, if you are still not aware of how desperate Alabama was to land Ryan Williams, Crimson Tide’s GM Courtney Morgan shared some interesting scoop. He once stated, “I never forget when the plane landed and it was like we gotta get Ryan, keep Ryan.” HC Kalen DeBoer too was head over heels as he confessed to Paul Finebaum, “He was a priority right off the bat.” While Williams may not have a say in US elections, he’s already living a life most people his age can only dream of.
