Woah! Legend Nick Saban’s successor, Kalen DeBoer, is a lucky charm for Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe. According to the bold 2024 season projections, Milroe will earn an elite spot in the top list of quarterbacks. Why wouldn’t he? After all, people think that the new Alabama HC DeBoer is the perfect coach for him.

There prevails a belief in the Tuscaloosa ‘hood that DeBoer’s mentorship promises a better future for Milroe than Saban’s era with the Crimson Tide. Because of this belief, even the rivals shared their lofty thoughts about the Alabama quarterback during the SEC Media Days.  

Milroe to lead the QB pack in 2024

On August 19, the big news arrived via Birmingham Sport’s post on X. They posted a list of the “Top 4 Most Athletic QB’s in Alabama.” Now that only 10 days remain for the 2024 season to kick off, the star athletes are singled out from the swarm. The QB to lead the pack is believed to be Tuscaloosa’s phenom, Milroe, who secures the top spot followed by UAB Blazers’ Jacob Zeno, Quincy Crittendon from Quincy Crittendon, and Auburn Tigers QB Payton Thorne.  

While in the list of quarterbacks, Alabama gets to savor the limelight thanks to their quarterbacks, that’s not the case regarding their season predictions. As put forward by Brad Crawford on behalf of CBS Sports, in the list of top-8 programs, Crimson Tide is believed to end at No. 4 in the race with a 10-2 tying with Ole Miss Rebels. And the first two teams will be Georgia at 11-1 and Texas at 10-2. However, Milroe has the potential to boost their rankings. But what is so special this season that gives the QB his superhero spark?

DeBoer’s plan to elevate Milroe’s game

Milroe is all set to enter the 2025 NFL Draft; before that, the 2024 season holds enormous value. Last season, Saban was not entirely satisfied with his QB, who failed to make a pivotal pass. But this season, things are going to change for the better. At least On3Sports analyst J.D. PicKell feels this way and comes up with a bizarre analysis. “Jalen Milroe- Kalen DeBoer to me is a lot like French fries in a milkshake combo… sounds like it doesn’t sound good…but when you try you find out they are phenomenal.” 

But why does he think so? The analyst elaborated, “Kalen DeBoer is going to do a lot for Jalen Milroe-pre-snaps with shifts, motions, and play designs to give him answers.” Other than this, the Alabama QB’s biggest issue has been inconsistency. But do not worry, Crimson Tide fans!

Now it’s time to sit back and watch the Alabama QB reach for the stars.
