It has been three months since Ole Miss Rebels HC Lane Kiffin lost his dad. But he has not yet recovered from the loss. Probably he won’t even in the coming days. Maybe the legendary NFL coach Monte Kiffin is not beside his son physically. But the universe has its own ways to show Lane that his father will always be there for him.

Lane Kiffin finds solace in nature’s gifts

Well, losing his father has not only been a personal loss for Lane. Rather, the football world, both college and NFL, lost a gem. Monte distinguished himself as the defensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and architect of the Tampa 2 defense. Having spent 13 seasons, Monte will be known for riding his game calling to an easy victory in Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003. The legend left for a heavenly abode on July 11, leaving an irreparable loss. Now Lane has no other option than to connect with nature as a means of feeling his late dad’s presence. On October 16, the Ole Miss HC tweeted a picture of a rainbow and captioned it as,  “Hi Dad 💙.”

After all, Lane got his father’s support till the last day of his life since Monte had led an active life closely related to the sport and being part of the Ole Miss family. A few weeks before his demise, the legend was honored with the Pro Football Hall of Fame. When Lane boasted about his dad’s achievement, “What an amazing accomplishment and career!! Congratulations Dad,” hardly did he expect to get engulfed by such a void in the coming days. Well, in his fight, Lane must not forget that he is not the only one, as fans can now feel what the Rebels HC has been going through.

Fans huddle up in the comment section to comfort Lane. Time does not heal the wounds left by losing parents, it’s just that it no longer pains like before. So what a fan suggested the Rebels HC is to be a bit patient, “Still miss my Dad. And Mom. Hang in there!” Five to six days after Monte passed away, Lane was surprised by a thing in the sky. A similar rainbow showed up, giving the Rebels HC enough hints that it was his father’s way of showing up for him.

Just like him, another fan finds solace in watching the rainbow, too. “I say the same thing when I see a rainbow.”  This sudden feeling of adrenaline rush to see something special as a rainbow makes another fan crave his late parents’ presence, “I know the feeling, fella.”

Well, one word is enough to describe the feeling as another fan wrote, “Beautiful ❤️.” “I also say hi to my dad when I see rainbows 🌈 ❤️ This rainbow stayed over me as I followed his ambulance transporting him to the hospital,” Mother nature using the sky as its canvas, painting it with colorful hues equally makes another fan emotional just like Lane Kiffin. With his biggest fan in the sky, it’s time for the Rebels HC to make Pops super proud.
