The New Year has ushered in a wave of mixed feelings for Colorado Buffaloes fans. Now that the calendar has changed date they now know what’s waiting for them. It’s the last few days that their fav QB, Shedeur Sanders, is now in Boulder. But the Buffs can’t afford to dampen Shedeur’s mood. The Buffs QB now gets to enjoy some celebrity treatment. Right now, it’s Julian Lewis who has already raised the stakes in the gifting game. Was Shedeur impressed? Looks like Deion Sanders’ son has been flattered. Not only gifting presents. Lewis goes that extra mile for Shedeur.

The 2024 season has been no less than a rollercoaster ride for Deion’s army. They definitely had a few misses, such as not making it to the playoffs. But they did compensate for the shortfalls. Their dual threat, Travis Hunter, bagged the famous Heisman Trophy. Plus, they got lucky with their Mission JuJu. The desperation to land Lewis was real. After all, Deion had to fill the QB place. And Coach Prime’s mentality has been it’s either Lewis or no one. In that case, the young chap, too, knows how he has some big shoes to fill. Keeping the responsibilities aside, Lewis is now busy giving farewell to his senior.

Shedeur is yet to move out, but the gifting spree has already started. On January 2, the Buffs QB posted an IG story. The picture showed two shopping bags from the leading athletic apparel brand Alo Yoga. The caption read, “Thank you @julianlewis10.” While Shedeur did not reveal what was in those bags, we could easily guess what was inside them. Looks like Lewis gifted Shedeur a grey-colored joggers and hoodie. Now, you must be wondering what made $1.1. Million worth Lewis choose Alo Yoga to gift the Buffs QB?

That’s because after overcoming complications with the Georgia High School Athletic Association to permit athletes to leverage their NIL, Lewis signed a deal with Alo Yoga back in February. He got lucky to be a part of the brand, joining bigshots like J.J. McCarthy and Caleb Williams as ambassadors. Meanwhile, it’s not that Lewis’ role ends at gift giving. He is all set to take the reins and has made a big promise.

Julian Lewis’ big words amidst Shedeur’s emotional farewell

Lewis knows how much effort Deion has put into landing him. Now, he would be willing to go to any extent to put a smile on Coach Prime’s face. A few days ago, the Buffs HC had poured his heart out, fearing how it’s going to be tough without his son. Deion got emotional while sharing, “That’s tough, to know that that’s it, that that walk won’t happen again. That’s tough. We’ve been doing this for a long time.” That’s when Lewis entered the chat.

He posted a tweet with a picture from the Buffs locker room. It showed two jerseys, Shedeur’s No.2 and Lewis’ No.10, hanging side by side. It came with a heartfelt caption as JuJu promised, “You left huge shoes to fill, but I promise to work to leave @CUBuffsFootball even better than I found it. Forever grateful 🙏🏽 #TrustGod #TrustTheProcess.”

Yes, the Buffs fans already knew that this was going to happen. Remember the picture where Shedeur Sanders and Julian Lewis posed for the camera back in July? In that picture, JuJu is seated on the Buffs throne while Shedeur hands him the keys. Yes, the exact passing-the-baton move. So forget materialistic gifts. Julian Lewis making the Buffs proud in the absence of Shedeur will be the greatest gift to him.
