Well, Alabama Crimson Tide QB Jalen Milroe had forgone his senior season to try his luck in the NFL. Definitely, he has proved himself athletically in the college football landscape. However, Milroe has been a special one. He carried with himself the quintessential Nick Saban factor. Back in Tuscaloosa, he was recruited by the GOAT himself. But looks like his future looks dark as long as he holds the QB position. Milroe is believed to soar higher if he tries out a new position. Now what does the QB think of this suggestion? Milroe came up with a hilarious answer!

The Alabama QB had all the critical eyes on him before the Senior Bowl. After all, it marked a good chance to boost his draft stocks. Instead of solidifying his ground, Milroe failed to leave his mark in Mobile. His accuracy in the short and intermediate windows was questionable. Not only this. It was evident that the QB struggled with turnover-worthy plays. Plus, his hand size was also a major concern. No wonder that all these were going to have a direct impact on Milroe’s draft stocks.

As per NFL Network, Chad Reuter’s analysis, the QB holds no chance of being selected in the first round. Rather, he is likely to be picked No. 52. However, it looks like there is a solution for Milroe to gain back his lost hype. What’s the remedy? Flipping positions.

Yes, you read that right! Here are the suggestions that the analysts have for the player. NFL Rookie Watch tweeted on February 21, giving a rundown of the present scenario. It read, “Jalen Milroe’s draft stock is reportedly ‘all over the place’ between NFL scouts heading into the NFL Combine.” While Milroe might attract comparisons as being the “SEC version of Malik Willis” or Jalen Hurts, he needs to step outside of his comfort zone. A part of the tweet read, “And some NFL scouts think Milroe would have a ‘better chance of success’ switching to RB rather than playing QB in the NFL.” But his stats as the QB are hard to forget.

Over his four-year college career, Milroe appeared in 39 games, amassing 6,016 passing yards for 45 passing touchdowns. His USP has always been his legs, as they contributed to 1,577 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns. As the starting QB in Tuscaloosa, his record was 21-6. Now what does Milroe feel about this suggestion?

Jalen Milroe shuts down position change rumors

Obviously, the news did reach the QB. Well, Milroe for sure is going to move forward with the QB position and has no intention of hitting the ‘SWAP’ button. But when asked if he’s ever considered a position change, he came up with a hilarious reply, “You don’t ask a zebra to be a dog.” Now you can expect this confidence from someone who has led the SEC in total touchdowns over the past two seasons with 71 total scores.

However, at the same time, he registered the most giveaways in the SEC last year with 15, followed by 11 interceptions and losing four fumbles. Now what are the possibilities of Milroe making a good running back? His legs obviously are going to be the game-changers in case he thinks of swapping the position. His strong limbs powered the Crimson Tide to several victories during his college career. Do you remember the Alabama vs. LSU face-off in November?

Jalen Milroe rushed for 185 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-13 beatdown of the Tigers. Besides this, in three games last season, he rushed for 100 yards. Drawing from these historic feats, analyst Greg Cosell gave a big thumbs up to Milroe. “He’s dynamically explosive as a runner, and he’s got a physical presence. I mean, this guy, when he runs, I mean, he almost looks like an old-school fullback with dynamic speed.” Even then, Jalen Milroe isn’t too keen on trading his QB crown for a shot at the RB spotlight.
