Shedeur Sanders‘ 2025 NFL Draft story is going to be wilder than any thriller. Despite declaring himself the top pick, Deion’s son already faced a harsh truth. The Titans, sitting at No. 1, are heavily eyeing Miami’s Cam Ward. And just as that sting began to settle, there came another blow. Another brutal draft snub as Mel Kiper did not give the Buffs QB a place in his top 5. Now, as per the latest mock drafts, the reality can be harsher, projecting Shedeur to fall out of the top 10, even top 20 picks club. That’s when he thought of turning his attention towards something else. Shedeur has a big visit coming up and dropped a one-word message for Mike Tomlin’s squad.

Remember what Shedeur’s reaction to Field Yates’ No.6 projection was? “That’s crap, bruh. I ain’t going sixth.” Poor Shedeur! He did not know what was waiting for him. After Yates, came CBS Sports Tom Fornelli, who placed him at No.22. Somehow, the Buffs QB must have been living by the hope that things would finally turn better just before the 2025 NFL Draft. But things in no way are falling into place. Kiper has the Buffaloes gunslinger going in the top 10 to the New Orleans Saints at No.9 overall. Turns out that Kiper’s projection was still better in the light of the other two. As per NFL Network’s Eric Edholm, Deion’s son will be landing as the No.15 overall pick. Still within the Top 15? Uh-huh!  NFL Network’s Lance Zierlein sees Shedeur as the No.24 pick for the Cleveland Browns (a trade-up).

But it’s not the right time for the player to obsess about what are just plain projections. Shedeur takes control of how his reality will look. On paper, the Steelers would be an interesting fit for Shedeur. They are one of the most quarterback-hungry teams. They desperately need a starting quarterback after losing Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in free agency. When it comes to Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson, they are the only passers on the roster. According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers plan to host the Colorado product for a top-30 visit on Thursday, April 10. Two days prior, on April 8, the Buffs QB reshared a post from Shedeur Daily adding his quintessential touch. “Legendary,” read the Buffs QB’s caption. Now that Tomlin’s squad is hosting him, does it confirm anything?

Absolutely not. As the name suggests, the invite is one of 30 official visits that Pittsburgh is allowed ahead of the draft. In no way does it suggest a player is within the top 30 of a team’s big board. Want some proof? Well, in March, this season, the free-agent veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent “about six hours” at their facility. However, we haven’t heard any news of a contract looming. While most of the NFL giants are still in two minds when it comes to bringing Shedeur home, the Buffs QB is getting praise from the best.

Titans bail, but motivation finds a way for Shedeur Sanders

Well, it’s not necessary that support would always come from the same-sport connections. Shedeur, in this case, has been way too lucky. As he is all set to take off to the NFL, he landed some heavy praise from one of his role models. That’s none other than Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving. Shedeur’s Pro Day at Colorado was a bit of a mixed bag. He got called out for his short and wobbly throws. However, his medium and deep balls looked surprisingly sharp. Now that the Titans have canceled his private workout session, Shedeur needed some motivational juice. And he knows exactly where to look for it.

On April 4, the Buffs QB shared a post on IG that captured him in different moods. It had him posing in front of a milky white Mercedes, followed by some clicks from the Pro Day. The comment section had a three-word message from Irving. The basketball star wrote, “Keep going brother 🤞🏾♾🤞🏾.” While Irving’s support has been direct, someone chose to teach the haters a big lesson, hopping on a train of sarcasm.

NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt called out the ‘manufactured’ hate surrounding Shedeur. On the Good Morning Football podcast, he addressed what might have been music to the haters’ ears. “I don’t think you can draft Shedeur Sanders because he pats the football. He’ll go undrafted, suffer irreparable damage, and end up in a different line of work.” In his Pro Day feat, Shedeur Sanders was spotted tapping the pigskin. Brandt continued, “I think you have to take him off the board. Not the first round, not the second; he is going to freefall and end up going to different line of work.” But soon, the doubters woke up from their sweet dreams. The analyst attached clips of GOATs like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, who also had the habit of tapping the pigskin before throwing. Now, that calls for enough hints on how Shedeur’s NFL future is going to look.
