Ever wondered how Shedeur Sanders manages every day with new controversies coming up? While you wonder, the Colorado Buffaloes QB has been already on a clarification spree. But why? After all, he had been thrown under the bus after their disastrous feat against Matt Rhule’s crew Nebraska Cornhuskers.

But, Deion Sanders’ son is a pro in sidestepping the blame game. Instead, he dodges accountability by labeling the defeat as a “rookie mistake.” However, hardly did Shedeur expect that this mistake would leave him getting struck off from Coach Prime’s list of favorites and he would come off as “uncared.”

Shedeur Sanders’ defense after the first-half blunder

The Buffs soared high with confidence before taking to the Memorial Stadium on September 7. Why wouldn’t they? It was the same Colorado who exposed their invincible side when they crushed Nebraska 36-14 just a year back. But this season, it did not take Shedeur and his teammates a long time to get a premonition of the upcoming disaster. And of course, they were not wrong. The opportunistic Cornhuskers defense left the Buffs in a pool of cold sweat. It further became challenging to see their hero Shedeur giving up a bad pick-six in the first half. The attacks that the QB received ever since then made him address the media.

After getting sacked five times, “I remember saying it was a rookie mistake,” stated the Buffs QB. However, he did take some accountability for the “childish” mistake. Shedeur owned up to his mistake of giving the room to make the pass and handing over the key to the Cornhuskers. But again he came up with a ‘not my fault, though’ clarification when he said, “But that wasn’t the intention, though.” No matter how he spins it, he has already ended up in Coach Prime’s disappointment zone.

Shedeur Sanders’ slip-up costs more than the game

The Buffs were pinned by the Cornhuskers inside the five-yard line. With this, Shedeur had the only option to throw from his end zone. But things started to turn awry by then when the pocket began to collapse and the QB threw from the far hash toward a receiver who was placed near the sideline. And BOOM! The ball got intercepted easily and Tommi Hill scored the sweet points with a touchdown.

After the soul-crushing 28-10 loss to Matt Rhule’s army, it was time for Deion to face the camera. He was spotted without his signature broad smile. While fans expected the Buffs HC to address the issue, not safeguarding son Shedeur came as a big surprise. His frustration with the QB was evident when he dropped a big claim, “We came out and Shedeur did something very uncared of himself. Never makes a bad decision, especially in that part of the field in which they got a pick six.”

Things are only going to get harder for Shedeur Sanders now that even his greatest hypeman Deion Sanders too has turned his back on him. Pieces of evidence have already started to pour in. The PFF College dropped a mock draft after the game, and guess what? The Buffs QB got snubbed from the list of top 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. He better figure it out quickly and make his way back to being Coach Prime’s dearest.
