Post-2024 things are going to be tough for college football. Wondering why? They will not be having gems like Jalen Milroe, Carson Beck, and Shedeur Sanders around. However, there’s nothing much to worry about. A new gate opens for the CFB programs, which should now channel their focus on high school. Five budding QBs from high school can easily be the next viral sensation. While coaches like Colorado Buffaloes’ Deion Sanders often mark himself safe from the school-to-school visit, it’s time they rewrite their coaching manual.

A Woodlands High School QB has been making quite a name for himself, particularly after his rage against Willis High School. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound, Jack Daulton should not be taken easily whose win over Deer Park has been the talk of the town. The QB came up with 4 touchdowns, three passing, and one rushing included. As per the reports, North Texas and TCU Horned Frogs have already laid eyes on him. Next on the list is the Klein Cain High School QB Zach Johnson. The 6-foot-4, 220 lbs athlete for the Class of 2026 is known for his electric speed and had defeated rivals Cy-Fair High School, on the opening night of the September 3 face-off.

Besides, The Cypress Christian School student-athlete, Brayden H Dawson, has also been quite a name. The 6-foot-3, 165 lbs QB caught all the attention with his heroic feat against Crockett on the eve of September 8. Dawson had been a star athlete since middle school and led his team to a 21-0 win in 2021. Tomball High School, Texas QB Jaxyn Faldyn also deserves attention since his stocks recently witnessed a rising trend. The dual-threat QB in his recent feat against Stratford came up with 176 passing yards, and 110 rushing yards along with two touchdowns.

Another notable name with stocks rising is the young athlete from Bridgeland High School, Tyler Begeal. He has been an absolute phenom and is ranked in the top 8 in 6A Region II District 16 for his alluring numbers, and 708 completion percentage for the 2024-25 season. However, would they be able to fill the talent gap?

As stars rise, the college football void looms

Even before the 2024 kick-off even started, the mock draft analyst had been all geared up with pen and paper. Now that week 1 of the college football season is over, the names are finally here. Going by the latest PFN 2025 NFL Mock Draft, there is Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders who would probably be picked up by Carolina Panthers. Even though Deion Sanders’ son did fail miserably against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, he has impressed with his pocket presence and accuracy.

Then comes Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck, who is hailed as having the highest floor of the quarterbacks. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound athlete is very likely to end up with Tennesseee Titans who will pick him for his on-point decision-making skills and fit the ball through tight windows.

The list hereby continues with Texas QB Quin Ewers’ chances of landing with the Las Vegas Raiders. Notre Dame HC Thomas Hammock too might lose his star QB Riley Leonard to the Raiders. But amidst the excitement of watching your favorite player rage on the NFL platform, a vacuum would follow. With these high school stars, the college football program won’t even miss the NFL grads!
