Guess what? Colorado Buffaloes’ safety Shilo Sanders is lucky to find two mentors in Boulder. One is his father and the Buffs head coach, Deion Sanders; the other is his teammate and Colorado’s dual threat, Travis Hunter.

Shilo Sander’s new learning curve following Hunter’s tackle tricks

College football is so competitive that it often dishes out rivalry among the team members. However, in Deion’s Colorado, it’s a BIG NO-NO. The August 20 episode of Well Off Media stands as the ideal example. Captured by Deion Jr., players can be seen busy in action during the preseason fall camp. Amidst the crowd, it’s Hunter that stands out. But what for? The dual-threat comes forward to share the top-secret tackle tips with Shilo. When Bucky asks his brother what he is up to, Shilo replies, “He’s [Hunter] teaching me how to highpoint like him.”

This prompted an inquisitive Deion Jr. to question, “So what is Coach Travis teaching?” When the camera pans toward Hunter, the two-way star is spotted living up to his new role, the mentor for his teammate. And just like that, Hunter dropped some tackle magic tricks for Deion’s son. Holding the ball in his hand, he continued, “You be like this you can just come back to wherever the receiver looks like he’s going to end up at you got to end up at least a yard behind.” And Shilo’s totally ready to follow Hunter.

Travis Hunter’s ‘otherworldly’ ability scores big

This season marks the end of Hunter’s chapter in college football. The Buffs’ dual threat is hailed as a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Before he got on the NFL wagon, the DNVR Sports podcast hosts gave him a big thumbs-up for flipping the 4-8 script. What is believed to work in Hunter’s favor? His array of talents is in understanding and matching offensive patterns. The co-host made a big claim after his preseason fall camp performance where he “runs after the catch two touchdowns back to back and then the interception that was just unbelievable again.”

This was enough to impress the hosts, who claimed, “It goes back to what we’ve said about Travis since the first day we ever talked about him his ability to track and attack the football is otherworldly… it’s legitimately generational the way that he goes up and gets the football.”

Not just the podcast hosts, but Colorado’s interim head coach and former offensive coordinator, Mike Sanford, also think highly about Hunter, who believes the dual threat to be a “dynamic playmaker.” So Shilo’s hit the jackpot with the ultimate tackle tutor.
