Travis Hunter’s protective move to rain on haters’ parade

That’s how eventful the Heisman finale in NYC has been. From Hunter grabbing the honor to breaking down not having his father around on his big day, it has been an emotional ride for the spectators. But for the Hunter-Lenee lovers, the day ended on a sour note. Now what’s the hoopla all about? Hunter’s ladylove got bashed online way too hard for how she appeared to react during the Heisman finale and other recent occasions. Viewers of the grand event found that she remained seated when Hunter was announced the winner. It was then the Buffs HC Deion Sanders who appeared to tell her to stand and applaud. This was enough for the fans to turn on their attack mode. But when there is Hunter, that’s not possible. Being the most caring one, the two-way star stands there as a shield.

All thanks to his quick-thinking skills, Hunter found a way out to stop this blame game. He knew how his IG posts gave the haters the free pass to spread negativity. So what’s the best plan? To rob the power of speech from them and turn off the comment section. On December 17, he posted Lenee’s picture looking all glamorous in a yellow gown. Interestingly, there were no comments. But isn’t it strange that Lenee is getting attacked so badly for refusing to stand? Well, these reactions have piled up for quite some time. 

The haters have been keeping track of Lenee’s behavior towards Hunter for quite some time now. A few days back Hunter was caught going to the sideline post-game to have a chitchat with his sweetheart. That’s when the couple was caught in some heated moment. And do you know what put the seal to the fans’ speculations? Lenee refused to reciprocate when Hunter leaned in for a kiss! Maybe there have been some misinterpretations as the Buffs two-way star now took a stand for his fiancée.       

Leanna Lenee’s side of the story 

Not even for once did Lenee refuse the charge. Rather she clarified why she remained seated all throughout the while. On Monday, a day after the Heisman finale, Hunter’s partner posted an eight-minute-long emotional TikTok video. She said, “When his name was called, I instantly was going to get up — if you watch the video, his mom didn’t get up, so I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I don’t get up, I just sit here.’” 

“As soon as I seen Travis get up, then I thought it was appropriate to stand up, greet him, congratulate him. But then, there was a camera right in front of Coach Prime and I knew they were going to film that moment and because of how people are online, I was like, I don’t want to be in that shot, so I sat down,” further clarified Lenee. So now that you know what actually happened that night. Now Hunter must have thought that her clarification was not enough.

After all, the drama had him as the central figure, the Buffs’ dual-threat owed an explanation. He couldn’t help but raise a warning for the pages that are spreading rumors about the lovey-dovey couple. Starting with, “My girl been with me for five years,” he asked the clickbait pages to leave them alone. After all, he knows how it’s going to be difficult for Leanna Lenee who had such a dark past with depression and anxiety that she once had to call 911. Travis Hunter definitely is not going to let it happen again.
