It’s not all bad news for the Buffaloes! Amidst the stormy clouds, Deion Sanders’ program found a silver lining. And no brownie points for guessing who made that possible. Of course, their dual-threat, Travis Hunter. The Buffs’ spirits had hit a nose dive after their unexpected and heartbreaking loss against Matt Rhule’s Nebraska Cornhuskers. Just when the CFB world thought that it was over for the Buffs, Hunter’s numbers brought the Buffs’ confidence back to life. This seems to be an absolute WIN-WIN situation for the two-way star who is already worked up with his NFL landing, as highlighted by the NFL Draft analyst.

September 7 ushered in bad juju in Boulder as Deion’s Colorado got crushed to mere specks of dust by the Cornhuskers in 28-10. After days of hustle and bustle, Shedeur got sacked FIVE TIMES! When one of their heroes failed, it was time for the Buffs to shift their focus to the other hero, Travis Hunter. And there they found some numbers that worked like a magic trick for their mood. While September 7 will remain an ominous day in the Buffs’ history, Hunter tried to add a positive touch.

During the face-off against Nebraska, he maintained a 100-yard receiving game for the third time in a row. This was enough for Hunter to break the 11-year hiatus in the Deion’s program. The last Buff with the record was Charles E. Johnson in the year 1993. Hold on tight as more alluring numbers await!

According to PFF, at CB, Hunter has been totally unstoppable. Out of the 6 times he had been targeted, the two-way star has only allowed 21 yards in coverage. And even at WR, he came off with flying colors holding the No.2 spot in the Big 12, fourth in the conference with 242 receiving yards, and a hat-trick of touchdowns. Is that going to save him an early spot in the 2025 NFL Draft? There seems to be some dilemma.

The great debate ft. Travis Hunter

The biggest debate surrounding Hunter ever since his name came up as the top prospect for the NFL Draft is about his position. Till college football, his two-way role has worked. But now that he has reached the last chapter in college football. He would have to choose either of the two. Here, the NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper had to say about Hunter’s path forward.

He stated, “He could be a Hall of Fame receiver. He could be a Hall of Fame corner… he lights up the scoreboard and prevents the scoreboard from being lit. But I think he has to be on the offensive side of the ball.” Because of this dilemma, most of the scouts are still not sure about Hunter for which his position in the mock draft did witness a dip.

As per the mock draft released by PFF College on September 6, the Buffs two-way star has been predicted as the No.4 pick. And here ESPN’s Matt Miller dropped something interesting when he claimed that he is a “three-way” player and could find success as a kick returner in the NFL. Let’s wait and watch what the future holds for Travis Hunter!
