Woohoo! Party time in the Boulder hood. Take a wild guess at who’s footing the bill? Of course, the Colorado Buffaloes dual-threat Travis Hunter. It’s just his way of showing gratitude to his teammates who made it possible for him to soar high during the feat against the CSU Rams. While Hunter is yet to be on a call with his own mother, he has already captured another mom’s heart. No matter whose mama they are, the Buffs’ moms are like the ultimate cheerleaders. This time it’s Kahlil Benson’s mother, LaTonya Benson who took to X to spread love for Hunter and his teammate.

It was hard for the spectators at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins to take their eyes off their favorite two-way star. Against the Rams, Hunter matched his career high with 13 catches. Besides, he gifted the Buffs fans with two touchdowns and an interception. While he needed to be pampered, he was the one to offer a treat to his teammates. Well, this move was enough to melt Kahlil’s mother’s heart. She then wrote, “@TravisHunterJr As an O-Line mom, I know to well, they don’t always get the credit they deserve, sometimes not even a highlight reel.” Benson continued, “Thanks to you & @ShedeurSanders for acknowledging them! One proud Mom!”

Wondering that just a dinner treat made the athlete’s mother so emotional. Definitely not! It was the heartfelt speech that Hunter came up with that eventually ended with the offer. On facing the CBS Sports reporter right after his magical feat, the two-way star refused to take the entire credit for the 9-28 victory on Saturday eve. Instead, he reeled his teammates into the limelight, “Shoutout to all my teammates man..I don’t get a interception without them guys rushing in the front and shout out to my quarterback and to my O-line today.”

Hunter continued and dropped a sweet offer, “O-line came in came in and played hard so I really want..dinner on me wherever y’all.” The dinner’s about to turn legendary for the dual-threat who just clinched the ‘best’ label.

Travis Hunter’s all-star performance wooed analyst

After his remarkable rage against the Rams, Hunter has now opened the portal for his many firsts. Saturday marked his first interception in this season. Plus, he is now the first player in the Buffs history with four back-to-back 100-yard receiving games. Deion Sanders being the perfectionist is already counting the days for Hunter to soar even higher, “There’s no question he can be even better. There’s no ceiling. That’s the thing, you all try to put ceiling on things, and we don’t really have no ceilings with anything in general.”

While Coach Prime is a tough nut to crack, Hunter has already cracked another tough nut- Skip Bayless. The ESPN2 legend could not wait for the calendar to change dates and on Saturday itself tweeted, “TRAVIS HUNTER IS THE BEST CORNERBACK IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL. TRAVIS HUNTER IS THE BEST RECEIVER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.”

It’s not Bayless’ fault! After all, the impressive stats: 12 catches, 2 touchdowns, 100 receiving yards, 5 tackles, and an interception is too hard to resist. Does this mean that Travis Hunter’s prospects in the NFL 2025 Draft and Heisman race are bright? Do share your thoughts!
