Who said the off-season would be boring? The three-month wait for the 2025 season to lift the curtains might be too long for college football fans, but we are already getting some headlines. We have NFL coaching legend Bill Belichick heading to the University of North Carolina to begin his CFB stint, and A.J. Haulcy, a standout safety from Houston, being courted by legendary rapper Rick Ross, with the two hanging out at Prime 21 steakhouse on South Beach. Well, apart from that, a trend that has taken over social media recently found itself into the Colorado Buffaloes conversation, and it kept the fans entertained.
Thanks to this new age world of social media, the players can now entertain the fans even when they are not in charge of the gridiron. Right now, the internet is buzzing with the new challenge, ‘100 men vs 1 gorilla.’ And whenever any new trend comes up, you can expect Deion Sanders’ Buffs to be in the thick of things.
While the Buffs stars came with some hilarious answers, one answer stood out. It was from Colorado’s 270lb alumnus and former defensive end B.J. Green II. Yes, the same guy who threw Colorado’s grad assistant, Warren Sapp, during a practice session last year in August. Whether it’s his physical strength or his sense of humor, the ex-Buffs who recently signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent during the 2025 NFL Draft, didn’t stop himself from having some fun on social media.

In the ‘100 men vs 1 gorilla’ challenge, people are sharing their opinions on whether they think that one hundred unarmed male humans can take on a gorilla in a fight or not. On April 2, the Colorado Buffaloes’ football Instagram page shared screenshots of players’ DMs asking them the same question. It had Jordan Seaton, Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, Julian Lewis, and other Buffs players. Out of them, Green II’s answer stood out. “100 Men vs 1 Gorilla 🦍 Who you got? 🤔.” Green II replied, “Man power I’m taking 50 big Quin’s 30 Tawfiqs 15 Quincy’s 4 seatons for my protection And 1 me to mastermind it all,” before hilariously adding, “I’m leaving with a fur coat.”
Green II wants defensive end Quency Wiggins, defensive tackle Tawfiq Thomas, and offensive tackle Jordan Seaton by his side, and he is good to go.
Wiggins transferred from LSU to Colorado on December 17, 2023, bringing his exceptional physical tools and potential to the Buffaloes’ defense. Shortly after, on December 22, five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton officially signed his National Letter of Intent with Colorado, choosing the Buffaloes over other top programs and becoming one of the highest-ranked recruits in the school’s history. Then, on April 22, 2024, defensive tackle Tawfiq Thomas transferred from Louisville to Colorado, adding depth and experience to the defensive line.
All three players bring a physical aspect to the game with their presence. The average weight of a silverback gorilla is 430 pounds. 265 lbs Wiggins, 290 lbs Seaton, and 300 lbs Thomas are all that Green II needs apparently.

Is B.J. Green II's humor the secret weapon that keeps Buffs fans loyal even after his NFL move?
Have an interesting take?
Green II was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on April 27, as he prepares for the next chapter in his life. While at Colorado, he impressed everyone with strength and size, fans were left surprised by Green II’s wit on this occasion.
Buffs fans can’t get enough of B.J. Green II’s humor
Sapp identified Green II as a strong asset, having been on the receiving end of his brute force. Praising his defensive linemen, Green II and Chidozie Nwankwo, Sapp shared, “They’re solid, they understand the game, they play the game the way it’s supposed to be played and they’ll work their (expletive) off with it.” Unfortunately, the praise did not come to any use as Green II went off undrafted and signed as a free agent. Now that the Buffs fans will no longer witness his magic on the gridiron, they hold to his sense of humor.

A fan was left in splits with Green II’s comments, writing “Leaving with a fur coat 🤣🤣.” Even though Green II is celebrated for his athletic success in Boulder, academically, too, he has been an accomplished student.
He pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. And it’s evident from his detailed plan that he uses the knowledge from his engineering degree in everyday life.“BJ’s answer proving his engineering major 😂”
The fact that, even after flying off to the NFL, Green II still counts on his “headache gang” is something that might have touched a fan’s heart. On that note, according to him, the prize for the best answer went to the ex-Buffs star, “Bj had the best answer😂.” Given his stats in Boulder, it shows how Green II spent a lot of time prepping himself.

In his sophomore season, he tallied 13 tackles, four-and-a-half for loss, and two-and-a-half sacks. Moreover, he generated a QB pressure on 22.4 percent of his pass-rushing snaps – the third-best tally of any defensive lineman in the FBS. Drawing from this, a fan commented, “Bj always prepared 😂🤞🏾it’s who he is.”
B.J. Green II, with the second-team All-Pac-12 honors with six games into the season, has notched 11 tackles, six TFLs, two sacks, and a fumble recovery. With this, he earned the GOAT honors as a fan commented, “I’m going with 100 men since my goat bj said 100 men.” Hence, it’s proved again. Once a Buff, ALWAYS A BUFF!
