When it comes to Bray Hubbard, the Alabama safety hardly burdens Kalen DeBoer’s squad with mistakes. However, whenever he does, he ensures that he makes up for it. For instance, Bray missed a tackle that resulted in a Missouri touchdown. He soon turned things to his favor with a couple of plays, among which he gifted a fourth-quarter interception. After taking heat for his rough outing against Florida State, Bray bounced back in style just two weeks later, snagging two interceptions against Wisconsin and earning SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors. As the safety caught up the buzz, fans now want to explore his pillars of strength, his parents- dad Mark Hubbard and mom Courtney Hubbard

Bray’s dad, Mark’s bio on X reads, “Retired Athletic Director. Ocean Springs School District-Husband to Liv, Dad to Brock, Maura Kaye, Bray, and Halle Jane.” He served as the Ocean Springs High School Athletic Director for more than 15 years. A former Greyhound standout on the basketball court, Mark served as the Ocean Springs High School head boys’ basketball coach for six seasons before stepping down after the 2005-2006 season. A year later, Bray’s dad stepped into the AD role. And there has been no looking back. While Mack held the role, various teams and athletes won 181 district titles, 28 South State Championships, and 31 overall state crowns. Bray’s dad was also named the top A.D. in the state at one point.

So, the Alabama star never really had to look for motivation outside. “It starts with my dad, my mom, the way they raised me,” Bray remarked. Besides deriving the competitive spirit from his dad, he shares a common hobby with him. The father-son duo loves camping.

Who is Bray Hubbard’s mother, Courtney Hubbard?

While Bray is lucky to have his dad by his side to witness him making strides in college football, his mother, Courtney, is no more. The Alabama safety lost his mother in January 2018. “We never thought this day would come,” Mark said.

Bray’s mother had a huge impact on society as she was an Ocean Springs educator. But she passed away after losing eight and a half years of fighting against breast cancer. Courtney was just 40 years old. She was a teacher for 17 years, most recently a kindergarten teacher at Pecan Park Elementary. Since Bray was only 12 years old when she lost his mother, he is leaving no stone unturned to make his mother proud from above.

Bray snagged two picks against Wisconsin in Bama’s 38-14 win. When asked if he’d ever had a two-interception game, Hubbard grinned and said, “Never.” After committing to Alabama, Bray shared,  “I don’t know what she would be doing right now. She would probably be crying. I loved my mom when I was younger. My dad tells people all the time that I was a mama’s boy.”
