Ole Miss Rebels vs. LSU Tigers — the matchup is enough for college football fans to get goosebumps. The stage is set for a blockbuster rematch this Saturday, September 27, in Oxford. Both programs are undefeated and playing like legitimate FBS playoff contenders. There has been a last-minute change in Lane Kiffin’s squad with Division II transfer Trinidad Chambliss having burst onto the scene after their starter, Austin Simmons, fell prey to injury. With Simmons still on the mend, Chambliss is set to take the reins for Ole Miss. His dual-threat ability and electric elusiveness will challenge LSU’s stout defense. So, who is going to rev up the excitement from the commentary box?

Talking about versatility in broadcasting? McDonough is the one who ticks all the boxes. His resume consists of covering the World Series, the NCAA Final Four, the Olympic Games, Monday Night Football, and golf championships. You see that range? The Ole Miss vs. LSU play-by-play commentator has spent 10 years at CBS Sports and was the lead college football play-by-play announcer from 1997-99. Unlike McElroy, McDonough will not bring firsthand football playing experience to the table during the Ole Miss vs LSU face-off.

McElroy came aboard ESPN in 2014 as an SEC Network analyst and quickly became a staple for Saturday college football coverage. He’s also a familiar face across ESPN’s studio shows, from College Football Live to SportsCenter. But more than his experience as a broadcaster, Ole Miss and LSU fans will enjoy hearing from the quarterback, McElroy. He played for Alabama from 2007 to 2011, during which time he led the team to win the 2010 BCS National Championships. Now, what about his other deskmate for the Ole Miss vs LSU game?

Since coming aboard ESPN in 2016, McGrath has become a key sideline reporter for Saturday college football on ABC/ESPN. Her resume includes hosting College Football Live and College Basketball Live, calling XFL action, and reporting for men’s college basketball. Now that the trio is in charge of the SEC rivalry, what are the fans gonna witness both on and off the field?
Analyst sides with Ole Miss Rebels over LSU Tigers
Looks like Josh Pate is not quite sold on Kelly’s LSU winning the game. Instead, he took Ole Miss’ side. “You’re telling me you’re going to break it all out this week? LSU has the ability to run—the style of ball they should always play. Well, that’s good. You’ll break it out this week,” came the analyst’s blunt take. Pate believes that LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier would face too many obvious passing downs, unlike games against Florida or Clemson.
The LSU Tigers quarterback room is running thin. Kelly’s quarterback, Nussmeier, is going through a rough patch, struggling with knee tendinitis. Can LSU count on the ones behind him? No way. Michael Van Buren brings some reps, but most backups are raw and inexperienced. That’s when the head coach came up with a wake-up call. “Our offense has to rise to the occasion as well. We want to continue to see the growth and development we saw last week and carry it forward,” said the LSU head coach.

On September 22, Ole Miss head coach’s princess hard-launched her boyfriend in a post with the caption, “happy :)” Did Landry make it official with an announcement or note? No. Instead, she liked her bestie, Molly Beam’s comment, “Is it the week of hard launching @kenziecregg.” Let’s see how the commentators spice up the airwaves with the sizzling chemistry between Ole Miss and LSU.
