Well, we are yet to get information about his condition. While he made two stops in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears, still today, Connor is celebrated for his four years with the South Carolina Gamecocks chapter. Now that he has met with an unfortunate event, his fans are heartbroken. Yet the toughest battle belongs to Connor’s wife, Molly, and the children at home.
Jason Adams of Greenville, S.C. tweeted, “Pray for Conner Shaw, he is on the field and they have been trying to revive him. Not looking good.” Another witness claimed on social media that Shaw was “responsive when they got him into the ambulance.” A quarterback at USC from 2010-13, Connor was elected to the South Carolina athletics hall of fame in 2021. Talking about the mark that the quarterback left in the Gamecocks’ squad? He holds the record for most wins by a Gamecocks quarterback and finished his career with 6,074 passing yards and 56 touchdowns. The college football program is still indebted to its legend, as he led the team to three bowl victories from 2010 to 2013.

Just three months back in June, Connor did not inch back before sprinkling some heavy praise on the current South Carolina quarterback, LaNorris Sellers. Before teeing off in the BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament at Thornblade Club in Greer, the Gamecocks legend said, “LaNorris is special.” He said how Sellers had won over him during a 47-second period of clock time during a Nov. 16 game against Missouri at Williams-Brice Stadium. Coming from a legend who led the Gamecocks to three straight 11-win seasons, including a 17-0 record at home, this was indeed a big honor for Sellers.

But the present looks a lot different for the South Carolina squad. The 33-year-old was coaching his nine-year-old son when Connor fell to the ground. The former quarterback was then resuscitated by emergency services on the field. Upstate resident Chad Smith appreciated the quick response from the team on Facebook: “I was there, super impressed by many volunteers who stepped in and helped him as they waited on firefighters to get there.” The incident rattled his followers, but for Molly and the children, it’s a far heavier chapter.
Inside Connor Shaw’s family life
A quick scroll through Connor’s IG proves the Shaws are all about love, laughter, and togetherness. The former quarterback married Molly Smith in 2014. The couple met at the University of South Carolina. After their love blossomed, they tied the knot in the Dominican Republic. They are now a happy family of four with two kids, ten-year-old daughter Mila and eight-year-old son Decker.
Going through old posts in Connor’s IG profile, a post from July 19, 2021, catches fans’ attention. The quarterback posted pictures from their dreamy getaway at the beach. As he was spotted posing in the sand, eye-locked with his lady love, and savoring a dreamy sunset with the kids, Connor has always been a family man. The caption of the post read, “Celebrated 7 years & 2 crazy cool kids. 🙌.” The kids have now grown up.
