Looks like there is some fault in Deion Sanders’ stars. After all, every time that man enjoys some good times, soaking up some happy spirits, some or other blows come and leave his world all topsy-turvy. Deion and the Colorado Buffaloes were on cloud nine with four back-to-back wins. While the Kansas Jayhawks looked too easy to crush, they pulled out a UNO reverse, folks! The Buffs lost the game against the Jayhawks. And how could just Deion let the defeat pass without some one-on-one session? Right after the game, he headed straight to the locker room. As we all know, if Deion is not happy with the feat, the post-game ‘catch-up’ sessions are going to be brutal. Yes, it definitely was, but Coach Prime ensured to end it on a positive note.
It took just one game for the Buffs to reawaken the Kansas Jayhawks, who ran over Deion’s boys at Arrowhead Stadium. 37-21, unimaginable, right!? Right from the beginning, Colorado had no answer or strategy to stop the rage of the Kansas star Devin Neal. The Buffs’ run defense was far from matching up to Neal’s level, who gifted his team with 207 rushing yards, 80 receiving yards, and four total touchdowns. Well, it looks like Deion is not too bothered about how powerful the rivals have been. Instead, he chose to address the issue in their own hood. The HC held his players under the critical radar, saying, “Not one of you going to say you played your best game. Nobody is going to say you gave the maximum effort.”

He did not just let his players go looking for the issues. Instead, Deion addressed where they went wrong—“The problem is you got intoxicated with success. And success is intoxicating.” Well, that’s not untrue. After all, the Buffs are enjoying a peak after a long time. They were able to bag four back-to-back victories that handed them 14-plus points. However, now that the players are getting overconfident and taking things too lightly, they do not sit well with Deion. But at the same time, he does not want his boys to brood over the mistake.
Instead, he shows them light for the path ahead. Even though, according to him, the players “bought into all these foolishness” he had an important question for them: “Where do you go from here?” This would allow the players to dig deep into the current situation and come out with some learning. As Coach Prime believes, “This moment is not about football; it’s about life. This is a tremendous life lesson.” Meanwhile, is Deion regretting being too confident about staying in the Buffs shutting doors to the NFL?

How Deion Sanders started to lose control over the Buffs’ destiny
The Colorado fans are already under a lot of mental stress. Every other day there is news of one or the other big NFL giants trying to lure their favorite Coach Prime away. However, Deion came forward and dropped some much-needed reassurance. “I’m happy where I am, man. I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is? … That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do,” stated Deion, quashing all the rumors. But hardly did he know that his boys would let him down so badly.
Yes, there were indeed some highlight moments for Coach Prime’s squad. For instance, the dynamic duo of Shedeur Sanders–Travis Hunter rose to the limelight as the dual threat caught eight passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. But even that was short-lived as the Jayhawks’ defense held the Buffs scoreless after their two-way star’s 26-yard touchdown catch. So now that the Colorado Buffs had no control over their destiny for a Big 12 Championship Game berth, Deion had to bear the online blows from the fans.

A CFB fan even commented, “Wait, Deion Sanders and his insanely overrated Colorado team who has never beaten anyone just got boat raced by a 4 win Kansas team?” Poor Coach Prime! As he was in the hot seat, he could not even save his son Shilo from the fan rage.
