Fans React to the Failed Buzzer Beater
Tied at 75 and late in the second half, the Wildcats forced a turnover. With an open court ahead of him, Arizona’s Dalen Terry made a dunk to push the Wildcats up by 2. However, referees called off the basket since Terry had not yet released the ball when the buzzer was sounded. This sent fans on Twitter into a frenzy. Many fans were ecstatic how close the game was. They clearly appeared to be taken aback regarding how Terry failed to close the game.

Furthermore, many fans trolled Dalen Perry. They argued that the Wildcat’s guard could have performed a layup of a floater instead of dunking the ball. This would have allowed the Wildcats to avoid an overtime situation.

The Overtime Win
With the score tied at 75, both the Wildcats and the Horned Frogs aimed to get the win. Moreover, it was Arizona’s stature that was also at stake following Perry’s failed winner. Hence, the two went into OT to close the game once and for all.

Despite fighting hard in OT, the Wildcats would come out on top and, despite winning the jump ball, TCU would miss 2 three-pointers. It was then that Arizona took the lead after making a free throw. Thereafter, TCU missed another jump shot but was able to regain the lead after a tip in from Emanuel Miller. It was at this point that the game went to bed as Bennedict Mathurin and Christian Koloko sealed the game for the Wildcats, despite TCU scoring 1 more basket. With an 85-80 win, Arizona heads over to the next round to take on Houston.
