Formula One is a global sport, and it hosts races in every corner of the world. Teams and drivers travel to Asia, South America, North America, Europe, and Australia to race, but the only continent missing from the current calendar is Africa. There are calls to bring the sport to Africa, and one of the biggest drivers in F1, Lewis Hamilton, has joined the campaign.

Previously, F1 used to visit South Africa and host races in Kyalami. But since 1993, the sport has not visited the continent. But since the owners have announced that F1 will host 25 races in the future, there is hope amongst the fans that the sport will return to Africa.

“I am of the same opinion as Lewis Hamilton, Africa is a continent where Formula 1 does not play, and that is wrong. The return of Formula 1 to Africa is a priority. We have looked at various options over the past few years.

And we hope that we can find a solution in the medium term,” said Domenicali. (Translated via Google Translate)

There were some reports that there might be a street race in Cape Town or a race in Morocco. But in the latest developments, the only likely location to have a race in Africa is Kyalami.
