Deion Sanders Jr’s SMU coach recalls hilarious incident
Being a two-star WR from Marcus High School, Sanders Jr. landed a spot at SMU Mustangs in the class of 2013. During his three years spent with the Mustangs, Sanders Jr. raked in 30 passes for 233 yards. Coach Prime credits the numbers to the WR coach at Jackson State, Jason Philips, or his friendly yet pushing-the-player-to-his-extent statements.
When Prime inquired about the funniest moment that Coach Philip has encountered with Jr. he, hollering proudly, recalled ‘the’ incident. “He said if that linebacker was worth it, then he would have planted you, buried you, watered you, and watch you grow,” he confessed all while looking at Deion Sanders Jr. The moment gave Jr.’s former coach and the head coach of Colorado something to laugh about. Yet, there was a proud smile lingering along with the friendly teasing laugh of Coach Prime and Coach Philip. They were proud then, and they are proud now of Jr’s achievements.

Sanders Jr’s bond with football was unbreakable. Hence, after concluding his college career with Mustangs, he tapped into the world of cameras and creativity through his channel ‘Well Off Media’.
