Last July, riding the high of a breakout NFL season, Brock Purdy paused to celebrate a different kind of milestone. But it had nothing to do with touchdowns or playoff runs. On Instagram, he shared a heartfelt message: “So happy for you, sis! Pumped to gain another brother. Love y’all ❤️.” His sister Whittney had just said yes to Jared Austin Schmidt in a dreamy beachside proposal at Rosemary Beach, Florida. The sunset backdrop, Jared down on one knee, and Whittney’s stunned smile painted a picture-perfect moment. Brock’s message added a little star power, sure, but more than anything, it reflected the deep-rooted bond of a family that shows up for each other, on and off the field.
Months later, in January 2025, Whittney’s big celebration was already in motion. This time in Nashville, for her bachelorette party. Jenna Purdy, Brock’s wife, joined the festivities in full cowgirl glam. She rocked pink boots next to Whittney, who stunned in all pink. “Boots and bling before the 💍 Can’t wait for your BIG day!” Jenna wrote. Since then, everyone has been waiting for that “big day” to arrive, and it duly did. Months after that magical “yes,” Whittney took the next step in her personal journey.
On March 8, at a private venue in Mesa, Arizona, Whittney Purdy became Mrs. Schmidt. She wore a stunning lace gown with sheer puff sleeves, while Jared Austin donned a light blue suit. In one photo, he lifted her mid-laugh, pure joy, frozen in time. But the real heartstring puller came nearly a month later, when Whittney shared a video from the day on Instagram.

In the clip, their father, Shawn Purdy, turned around and caught his first glimpse of his daughter in her wedding dress. His reaction? Immediate, raw emotion. He choked up, hugged her tightly, and Whittney, unable to hold it together, cried right along with him. The caption of the video simply said, “Daddy’s girl forever.”
Even Mama Purdy couldn’t hold back. Carie reposted the video on her story, showing the love and pride bursting from every frame. For the Purdy family, it wasn’t just a wedding—it was a moment of legacy, of love, of letting go, and holding on all at once. This moment was also a reflection of how deeply connected the family is, which is something we have seen in the past.
In July 2023, when Brock proposed to Jenna to marry him, Whittney could hardly contain her excitement. She shared images from the special day and welcomed Jenna into their family. “Such a great week celebrating Brock and Jenna🤍. So excited to be gaining the most sweetest sister in law! Love you both & Cheers to an amazing year ahead🥂💍,” she wrote. Brock has also been a constant source of support for his siblings, especially helping out Chubba with his football career.

“My brother has helped me a ton in life and football,” Chubba said during an interview with the Omaha World-Herald in 2022. “I really appreciate that from him. He’s had a ton of experience as well, he’s just taught me so much.”

Athleticism runs through Purdy family
Growing up in a competitive household, the Purdy siblings have always known one way of life. “Ever since we were little, competition has been everything,” Chubba, Brock’s younger brother, said in a 2019 interview. Given that all three siblings have been athletes at one point, this spirit has translated well.
Let’s start with the oldest—Whitney. Collegiate softball at Spartanburg Methodist, then Southeastern University. She didn’t go pro, but she left a legacy of hustle that clearly made an impression. Brock once praised her arm strength, probably from watching her gun throws from third base like it was the NFC Championship.
Then there’s Chubba. Real name, Preston. But let’s be honest, “Chubba” sticks better than most DBs trying to cover Tyreek Hill. He’s the youngest of the three, followed Brock into the quarterback room, and despite the detours—Florida State, Nebraska, now Nevada—he’s still chasing that QB1 dream.

Their dad, Shawn, knew what he was doing. Former minor league pitcher. Built his boys in the fire. And their mom, Carrie, just made sure to keep the Purdys intact. Making sure they didn’t lose themselves in the thick of competition. The steady voice in the huddle.
However, here’s the kicker—this commitment? It wasn’t performative. It was emotional, real, and stitched with love. From bachelorette party shoutouts to Super Bowl sideline hugs, the Purdy siblings are always showing up for each other. And the latest clip showing Shawn’s raw side, now, makes it clear where the siblings get the importance of bonding.
