The Kansas City Chiefs’ dynamic duo just took their partnership off the field. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce opened 1587 Prime, their upscale steakhouse, in mid-September 2025. The name’s a nod to their jersey numbers. 15 for Mahomes and 87 for Kelce, symbolizing the same kind of teamwork and unity now translated into the business world.

Fast forward, and the steakhouse has already become a hub for family and friends. 1587 Prime even brought the Mahomes family together under one roof at 1587 Prime. A few hours ago, Mahomes’ mom, Randi, shared a story on her IG handle.

The post, originally shared by Mahomes’ brother Jackson, featured the Chiefs’ quarterback surrounded by family: His mom, dad Pat Mahomes, brother, wife Brittany Mahomes, and sister Mia. Mahomes and Kelce’s new steakhouse is situated inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel at 1500 Baltimore Avenue, in the heart of downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

When asked about life as a co-owner of 1587 Prime, Mahomes said he hopes the city of KC can feel like the restaurant is theirs, too.

“I think it’s just a cool place we can call our own — and hopefully Kansas City can call their own,” the 30-year-old QB said. “I went there a couple weeks ago, and I was in the private room, and I’m sitting there, and they were like, ‘Hey, Chris Oladokun’s outside, and Chris Jones is outside, and George Karlaftis was there the other day.”

However, amid the family time at his new steakhouse, there has been a wrinkle. Patrick Mahomes is now dealing with some challenges, and it’s not really related to football and quarterbacking.

“The $16 mashed potatoes served at Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s new restaurant,” the user wrote on the website, while also adding, “They are also frequently served cold.” Since then, Mahomes and Kelce have faced plenty of questions about the restaurant’s food.

After all, 1587 Prime was marketed as a high-end spot that blends luxury dining with authentic Kansas City culture. After that went down, Kelce addressed the backlash on his New Heights podcast and tried to clear the air.

“It’s not a bad dish in the entire menu, man,” the tight end said. “I like the Hamachi. I think that’s a unique to Kansas City. It’s specific to the restaurant, in unique to Kansas City because Kansas City doesn’t have like a lot of these.”

That said, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s steakhouse promised the finest meals to its customers. But the reviews and that ratings are now divided.
