The Dallas Cowboys pulled off an overtime win against the New York Giants, but it didn’t come without a cost. During the game, wideout KaVontae Turpin and center Cooper Beebe both had to leave at different points because of injuries.

Now, as whispers are going around, Turpin seems to be fine per the NFL Network’s Jane Slater. Beebe, on the other hand… not so much.

After the game, word came out that Beebe had a swollen ankle. Nick Harris from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram contextualized the injury in his own manner:

“In the locker room, Cowboys C Cooper Beebe had a swollen ankle that was basically the size of my head.”

While Brian Schottenheimer didn’t have an update at that time, now we’ve got the latest update on his injury. It’s not exactly the kind of news Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense want to hear. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Beebe has reportedly suffered a high-ankle sprain, and he is expected to miss a few games of the season. Rapoport posted this update on ‘X’:

“#Cowboys center Cooper Beebe, a key part of their stellar O-line, is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a high-ankle sprain, sources say. He’s almost certainly headed to Injured Reserve. But should be back in the second half of the season.”

This is pretty much what you’d expect from a high-ankle sprain.

The injury usually sidelines a player for at least six weeks. Even Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones confirmed the 6 to 8 week timetable for center Cooper Beebe’s return from Sunday’s ankle injury on 1053thefan:

“We’re hoping that it’s on the shorter end of that. But there’s probably a pretty good chance that he’ll end up on (injured reserve).”

The hit to their offensive line without him, however, is definitely noticeable. And the reasoning is pretty simple.

Beebe, just 24 (in his second season), is the anchor of that strong line. And losing him is going to sting for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense. Taken all together, we can expect Brock Hoffman to take Beebe’s place at the center position, starting from the Week 3 showdown against the Chicago Bears. As for a trade possibility? That remains to be seen.

Dak Prescott took a sigh of relief after a 1-1 improvement

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys couldn’t afford a 0-2 start to the 2025 season. So, when 41 points came flying in during the fourth quarter, Prescott made sure he had the last laugh.

With the game tied 37-37 in overtime, Dak scrambled for a 14-yard run to set up the perfect spot for the final kick. And from there, it was all Brandon Aubrey, and he delivered.

The Cowboys’ kicker nailed a 46-yard field goal with just 0.4 seconds left on the clock, giving the Cowboys a thrilling 40-37 OT win over the Giants. Right after that went down, Prescott was asked about the difference between 1–1 and 0–2.

And Dak kept it simple: “S–t, I don’t want to know.”

Indeed! Things could have taken a rough turn in the locker room if the results had gone sideways.

The reasoning is pretty simple: Dallas has never opened a regular season with 0-2 in the past 14 years. On top of that, the quarterback has never lost a game against the Giants since his rookie season. Besides, the Cowboys were coming after a narrow loss against the Eagles in the season opener.

So yes, when Dak Prescott walked out with a 40-37 win, he just didn’t want to know the difference between 1-1 and 0-2.
