Trevon Diggs is dealing with a frustrating knee issue, prompting the Dallas Cowboys to list him as questionable for Sunday’s game. This all began last week when he was added to the injury report with a knee complaint. The team is being cautious, even limiting his participation in Wednesday’s practice as he continues to manage this lingering injury, which dates back to the previous season.

To understand the concern, you have to look at the severe history of his left knee. His troubles started in 2023 when he suffered a season-ending torn ACL during a late September practice. Diggs showed immense dedication to return, playing in the first 11 games of the 2024 season, but his knee issues flared up again.

On December 14, 2024, the Cowboys officially shut him down for the remainder of the season, revealing the injury was more serious than just a ligament tear; it involved complex cartilage and joint damage. This led to a major chondral tissue graft surgery on the same left knee in January 2025.

Despite all of the medical setbacks and the necessity to limit his practice time this week, Diggs has not missed a single regular-season game this year. Matt Eberflus, on Thursday, gave us a slight hint that we might get to see Trevon back, as he said,

“Having the two corners [DaRon Bland and Trevon Diggs] back certainly helps in doing that because you feel great about your matchups in that regard. It’s going to come down to technique and fundamentals. Having the guys back was a big, big part of that.”

For now, Diggs is fighting through the pain to stay on the field, but the decision on whether he can suit up on Sunday rests on the balance between his determination and the long-term health of his knee.

There’s no doubt that Dallas Cowboys fans will be keeping a keen eye on the official inactive and questionable lists for Week 6 Sunday’s game. Any player’s status, whether they are ruled out or simply uncertain to play, can significantly impact the team’s strategy and performance.
