With the Miami Dolphins preparing for a crucial Week 3 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been completely candid about his struggles and the team’s recent performance.

Following the 33-27 loss to the New England Patriots in the last game, Tagovailoa revealed his demand from his star wide receivers, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
“Having some talks with Reek and whatnot, that if [I throw it deep], just don’t think that I’m going to throw it 80 yards,” Tua told reporters. “As you’re running, do your best to track it, because you can potentially stop.”

Following the candid admission, Dolphins Cheetah, Hill, posted a simple, pointed message on his Instagram story captioning his moment catching the ball with:
“Always open.”

Through these posts, Hill serves as a strong and subtle reminder to Tua that he needs to start trusting his WR1 on more occasions.

Their connection was on full display in the Week 2 loss at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Hill caught a 47-yarded from Tagovailoa, adjusting to an underthrown ball on third-and-13 to keep the drive alive that briefly gave Miami a 17-15 lead.
He finished the night with six catches for 109 yards, once again proving he can turn a risky throw into a momentum-swinging play.
Tagovailoa didn’t dodge the obvious when asked about the pass. “Oh yeah, heck yeah. Heck yeah, I definitely did. I wasn’t able to get both my feet under me as I was moving off the spot to make that throw,” he admitted.
The honesty mattered — his arm strength has long been scrutinized, but his communication keeps him in sync with his star wideout.
Despite the loss, Tagovailoa put up 26-of-32 passing for 315 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
And now, the Phins’ next matchup with the Bills will test whether that deep-ball chemistry can keep holding up. Because Tua knows his opposite number can…and so far, he is doing that.
Tua Tagovailoa expresses admiration for Josh Allen
The Bills and Dolphins meet on Thursday Night Football headed in opposite directions.
Buffalo sits at 2-0, averaging 35.5 points per game behind reigning MVP Josh Allen, while Miami is still searching for its first win.
Tagovailoa didn’t hold back when asked about Allen, telling reporters,
“That dude can do literally anything he wants. Definitely different skill set for me. I can’t do half of what he does when it comes to running the ball and any of that.”
He also praised Buffalo’s defense, adding, “I think defensively, the scheme that they’re in, very disciplined. That’s one of the teams that just want to get to a spot.”
The admiration is clear, but so is the challenge. Buffalo has beaten Miami in 10 of the last 11 matchups, and Tagovailoa’s honesty has some Dolphins fans uneasy heading into Week 3.

At 0-2, with Mike McDaniel already facing speculation about his future, the Dolphins have little margin left.
Their hope rests on Tua, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle turning explosive plays into points fast enough to keep up with Allen’s all-around brilliance. Anything less, and Miami risks digging a hole too deep to climb out of in the AFC East race.
