The 2023 season was the worst in the legendary HC’s career. Although he still maintained a quality defense in the 2nd half of it, the horrible offense, especially the QB position, let him down. Even while leaving the team tent for the final time, Belichick will surely remember Brady.

CONFIRMED: Curtain falls on Patriots’ Bill Belichick era

According to multiple NFL insiders, Bill Belichick and the 6x Super Bowl winners have come to a mutual decision to call it an end to the chapter. Insider Ian Rapoport was one of the first ones to break the story with information from league sources.

Looking back, there are so many things to celebrate it’s almost overwhelming. When Belichick took up the job, the Cowboys were the most successful NFL side ever with 5 rings. 24 years later, the Cowboys are yet to add to the count but Belichick and Brady earned the Patriots 6 rings, making them the most successful franchise ever along with the Steelers, averaging one Super Bowl every 4 years.

Belichick’s journey with the Patriots has been nothing short of wonder. He left the Jets‘ HC job the following day he was appointed, infamously carrying a note that read “I resign as HC of the NYJ.” He was soon a villain in New York, but the move changed NFL history.

In the same year’s NFL draft, Belichick found the jewel of his crown, a 6th-round, 199th pick named Tom Brady. No one realized, but history started writing itself that day. Brady would take one year to reach his potential. But when he did, there was simply no stopping the side. They win their maiden Super Bowl in the 2021 season.
