DK Metcalf just got UNO reverse called on him by the 49ers‘ Taybor Pepper. The Seahawks’ WR didn’t have a great game and faced an early exit after a late scuffle with the Niners’ DB Deommodore Lenoir. But the long-snapper has rubbed salt in his wound with a social media post following the game.

The 49ers move closer to the Eagles and the NFC conference contention with the win. And with no surprise, it was QB Brock Purdy again for the away side to lead the charge with his MVP-worthy performance.

Metcalf ran into an altercation with Lenoir, leading to the exit of both players at the 3-minute mark of the last quarter. The Seahawks and their star wide receiver lost the game, but further drama was awaiting in social media.

Metcalf has recently learned ASL, or American Sign Language, and has been using it during his celebration. But after his ejection, the 49ers LS Pepper used the same language to post a hilarious reaction to X (formerly Twitter) on the incident.

One comment pointed out two possible options to describe the act, and Pepper selected the first one as the correct answer. “14, f*cked around and found out or 14, f*ucked around and went peace?” Stephanie McCarroll asked. To which Pepper replied, “First one.”

While the social media act drew people’s attention after the game, guess who got all eyes on him during it? Once again, that’s Brock Purdy!

The former Mr. Irrelevant has defied all odds to become people’s choice for the MVP this season. Closest to him is the Cowboys’ Dak Prescott, a distant second, followed by the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts. And the 49ers quarterback is proving every week why he deserves the award.

Purdy threw 19-27 for 368 yards and 2 TDs, almost 100 yards more than his counterpart Drew Lock. And the numbers put him in an elite club of NFL quarterbacks with 4 members. It is led by franchise legend Joe Montana, who threw with 70% accuracy for 8 consecutive games in 1989. The only other members are Sam Bradford (2016), Drew Brees (2016), and Brock Purdy (2023), all of whom have 7 consecutive games with that accuracy now.

Purdy has the ability and possibility to touch and even topple Montana with 3 more games remaining in the regular season. And to add to his individual success, the 49ers are leading the odds to win the Super Bowl this year. If that happens, will Brock Purdy be considered the greatest Mr. Irrelevant ever? Let us know what you think.

One take at a time

My story of becoming an NFL writer is as interesting as my story of becoming an MMA practitioner. Coming from such a sport where athletes look to knock the brain cells off each other for a living, I liked the aggression that American Football had to offer. Before I even realized it, I religiously started following American football, picking up the most challenging in-depth write-ups.
