FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s love for the NFL is getting really serious. He was spotted alongside the Patriots CEO Robert Kraft in the Sunday game between the Patriots and the Dolphins. This is his second appearance at a Patriots game after he appeared at their away game at MetLife Stadium against the Jets in September. The Patriots made the day special for Infantino with the victory against the Jets.
This time, however, the story was a bit different. The team fell short against the Tua Tagovailoa-led offense as they finished 31-17 against the Dolphins. But the ‘men in blue’ (both Infantino and Kraft were in blue shirts) were no short of enthusiasm as they kept close eyes on the duel and momentarily engaged in million-worthy conversations.

Infantino’s NFL appearance timeline is not that old to think of actually, but it’s the frequency that keeps catching the eye. His first attendance at the league is less than 6 weeks old, but he has already attended two more games since. The Gridiron seems to have captured his heart as Infantino let his words speak for themselves at the Cowboys vs Jets game on September 18.

As Gianni Infantino admires the NFL, is a future crossover in the making?
Although he was initially booed by the fans, Infantino didn’t let that ruin his day. He infamously praised the country for its passion and commitment to the sport. “I have to say in America you are light years ahead compared to the rest of the world,” he said. And looks like the words were, indeed, coming from his heart as the FIFA boss was back to enjoy the American atmosphere once again.
He looks to have something for the Patriots, with back-to-back appearances despite their struggles. Either Infantino is obsessed with the team, or maybe he just shares a great friendship with Kraft. We can’t tell. But their repeated meetings could pave the way for a future crossover, and we might see Mac Jones kicking a soccer ball alongside MLS’s Lionel Messi very soon. The American sports fans will be the real winners here.
