If you had to sum up Week 4 in two words, I’d simply say: Too much. Too much drama, too many shakeups, and way too many storylines to cram into one Week. Some teams kept rolling, others kept slipping, and a couple of big names finally hit their first bump. The New York Giants, with Jaxson Dart running the show, talked up a win and actually backed it up. The Jacksonville Jaguars?
Watch What’s Trending Now!
They stacked up their first win of the season as well. Then came the shockers. The San Francisco 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts, both sitting pretty 3-0, finally took their first loss of the season. And out West, the Los Angeles Rams made it clear that their Week 3 stumble against the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t knock them off course. They’re still very much in the Super Bowl conversation.
Now, with Week 5 around the corner, the real question is: who’s rising, who’s falling, and who’s about to surprise us next?

The Tennessee Titans just can’t catch a break. After Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans, they’re now staring at a 0-10 skid dating back to last season. And on Sunday, it was the same story all over again. Cam Ward is still searching for that rhythm, and it shows. The rookie went 10-of-26 for only 108 yards and a pick, never really getting comfortable. The offense was ugly.
As a whole, the Titans’ offense managed just 175 total yards (93 through the air and 82 on the ground). That’s it. The defense at least kept them in it early, holding Houston to just six points through three quarters. But when the fourth quarter hit? The dam broke. The Texans punched in three touchdowns, while Tennessee couldn’t rack up any.
This week, the Titans head to State Farm Stadium to take on the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona’s coming off a rough Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and after dropping back-to-back divisional games, this one feels like a must-win for them.
31. Miami Dolphins (1-3)
Last week’s ranking: 30
Week 4 Result: 27-21 win vs Jets
PFF Rankings: 25th offense, 32nd defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Panthers
The Miami Dolphins finally got the monkey off their back in Week 4, snagging their first win of the season and dodging what could’ve been three straight division losses. The Fins forced the New York Jets into three turnovers while keeping their own sheet clean. In the red zone, Darren Waller was the go-to guy, hauling in two touchdown grabs and showing exactly why they brought him in.
On the ground, De’Von Achane looked electric, ripping off 99 rushing yards and punching in a score to keep drives alive and the Jets defense guessing. However, the day wasn’t all sunshine. In the process, the Fins lost Tyreek Hill to a dislocated left knee, and that changes the whole picture. The Dolphins managed to close out the Jets without him, but moving forward, they’ll have to figure out how to keep the offense humming without their biggest weapon as they roll into Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.
30. New York Jets (0-4)
Last week’s ranking: 28
Week 4 Result: 27-21 loss at Miami
PFF Rankings: 21st offense, 22nd defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Cowboys
The Jets are indeed the same old Jets. Monday Night’s blowout against the Dolphins was surely a night full of struggles. The Jets committed 12 penalties for over 100 yards, lost three fumbles, and gave up a couple of scores to the Dolphins’ tight end, Waller, in a 27-21 loss. The silver lining, though? Justin Fields, in his return, looked efficient but not elite.
The quarterback completed 20-27 passes for 226 yards and one touchdown. Sure, New York tallied more yards than the Dolphins (Jets: 404 and Dolphins: 300), but failed to convert turnovers and red-zone chances into a decisive advantage. With that being said, the Jets are now off to their worst start of the season since 2020. And with the Dallas Cowboys lining up in Week 5, the journey from here is nothing but tough.
29. Carolina Panthers (1-3)
Last week’s ranking: 24
Week 4 Result: 42-13 loss at New England
PFF Rankings: 20th offense, 29th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Dolphins
After Week 4, it’s hard to remember how the Panthers shut down the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. The New England Patriots made them look human, blasting Carolina 42-13. Dave Canales owned the team’s failure, and it wasn’t hard to see why. The defense that blanked Atlanta allowed Drake Maye to go 14-of-17 for 203 yards, two passing TDs, and a rushing score.
The offense struggled too; Bryce Young stayed turnover-free but finished just 18-of-30 for 150 yards and a single touchdown. Special teams took the hardest hit, giving up over 200 return yards, including a punt TD to Marcus Jones. This week, Carolina faces the Dolphins, a matchup that’s looking much easier on paper. But now nothing is certain for the Panthers.
28. New Orleans Saints (0-3)
Last week’s ranking: 32
Week 4 Result: 31-19 loss at Buffalo
PFF Rankings: 27th offense, 28th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Giants
The New Orleans Saints are near the bottom of almost every ranking, but they’re not the worst teams. A 31-19 loss over the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 showed the good, bad, and ugly side of the Saints.
The good: they kept momentum throughout the game until it mattered most. New Orleans was trailing 14-10 at halftime and showed excellent fight well into the fourth quarter. They had more first downs than the Bills (22-20). The rushing attack was efficient as well, as the Saints ran 189 yards, averaging 5-6 yards per carry.
The bad: The Saints came out flat in the fourth quarter. The crystal? Their run defense. New Orleans allowed Josh Allen and the Bills to run 165 yards, including James Cook’s picking up 117 yards on 5.3 yards per carry and 1 TD. They couldn’t stop Allen either, as the quarterback rushed for 45 yards on 7 carries and racked up 1 TD.
The ugly: The Saints’ passing game was ugly. They tallied just 109 yards to 191 by the Bills. Spencer Rattler wasn’t up to the mark, as he completed just 18-of-27 for 126 yards and one touchdown.
This week, they’ll face the Giants, who are coming after securing the first win of the season. The signs are clear: New Orleans seems to be establishing an identity, but still needs to develop in some parts.
27. Cleveland Browns (1-3)
Last week’s ranking: 22
Week 4 Result: 34-10 loss at Detroit
PFF Rankings: 31st offense, 1st defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 9:30 am vs. Vikings in London
The Cleveland Browns tasted a spark in week 3, but the darkness quickly pulled them back in Week 4. There’s no denying that the Browns have a top-tier defense in the league, and it was one of the reasons they pulled off an upset against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. But the Week 4 matchup against the Detroit Lions told a different story.
Cleveland allowed 34 points, 277 total yards (168 through the air and 109 on the ground). Add three turnovers to it, and the Browns are now 1-3 in the first four weeks. Joe Flacco isn’t the same one who led the Browns to the postseason a couple of years back. The Lions picked him off twice on Sunday, as the veteran completed 16-of-34 passes for 184 yards.
This week, the Browns will meet the Minnesota Vikings, who are coming after dropping their second game of the season. The big question ahead of Week 5: Is it time to move on from Flacco? Kevin Stefanski seems firm on his QB decision.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (1-3)
Last week’s ranking: 26
Week 4 Result: 25-24 loss vs. Chicago
PFF Rankings: 16th offense, 27th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Colts
The Las Vegas Raiders should have walked out of Allegiant Stadium with their second win. After all, the rookie running back, Ashton Jeanty, broke out and recorded his first 100+ yard performance (138 yards on 21 carries), including a 64-yard touchdown run and a couple of receiving scores. On top of that, Maxx Crosby recorded one of the most productive games of his career, recording 5 tackles and 1 pick.
But at the end of the day, Geno Smith threw three picks (his second clunker of the season), and that was all the Chicago Bears needed to sneak out a 25-24 win over Vegas. A blocked 38-second field goal from Daniel Carlson sealed the Raiders’ 1-3 start under Pete Carroll. The Raiders head to Indy to face the Colts, a team licking its Week 4 wounds but looking like a playoff contender with Daniel Jones running the show. Smith has to step up, Jeanty and Crosby need to stay sharp, and the Raiders simply have to get the W.
25. Cincinnati Bengals (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 20
Week 4 Result: 28-3 loss at Broncos
PFF Rankings: 29th offense, 15th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday 4:25 pm vs. Lions
“This game will break your heart,” Joe Burrow wrote while addressing the Cincinnati Bengals‘ Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos. And it sure did. The Bengals were flagged repeatedly (box scores and recaps list roughly 11 penalties for 65 yards). Denver shut down Cincy’s offense and let them tally just 159 total yards, and scored only a field goal on their opening drive.
Their defense, on the other hand, wasn’t a different story either. The Bengals allowed Bo Nix to throw for 326 yards and two TDs while J.K. Dobbins rushed for 101 yards, allowing Denver to control tempo and the clock.
To put it in perspective, Denver outgained Cincinnati by a massive margin (512 — 159). Final score: 28-3 in Denver’s favour. The signs are clear: Without Burrow under the center, the Bengals aren’t the same as they were in the first couple of weeks. This week, the Bengals will play the Lions with hopes and expectations being critical.
24. Houston Texans (1-3)
Last week’s ranking: 23
Week 4 Result: 26-0 win vs. Tennessee
PFF Rankings: 23rd offense, 13th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Ravens
Both the Texans and Titans entered Week 4 with a 0-3 record. But Houston made a statement, cruising to a 26-0 blowout thanks to a lockdown defense and an offense that simply did its job. C.J. Stroud threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns as the Texans erupted for three scores in the fourth quarter, matching their total TDs from the previous three games combined.
The defense was rock-solid, holding Tennessee to just 175 total yards and keeping Cam Ward from finding any rhythm. It’s the Texans’ third shutout and their first since blanking the Titans 29-0 back in 2010. This week, they head to Baltimore to face the Baltimore Ravens. Even battered from a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and dealing with Lamar Jackson’s injury, the Ravens aren’t going to roll over. Expect a stiff challenge for Houston.
23. Arizona Cardinals (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 18
Week 4 Result: 23-20 loss vs. Seattle
PFF Rankings: 22nd offense, 20th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday 4:05 pm vs. Titans
The Cardinals vs. the Seahawks is one of the newest NFL rivalries in the making, and somehow, the Seahawks seem to have an edge over their divisional rivals. Arizona lost its eighth straight game against Seattle at Glendale, thanks to multiple injury complications. As expected, the Cardinals’ rushing attack put up decent numbers, but it wasn’t elite. And you can tell why.

James Conner is out for the year with a foot injury. Trey Benson surely stepped in but could only rush for 35 yards on 8 carries. That said, the Cardinals are now riding a two-game losing streak ahead of the Week 5 matchup against the Titans. While defeating the Titans should not be a tough job for Arizona, we’ll see how they shake things up.
22. Dallas Cowboys (1-2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 25
Week 4 Result: 40-40 tie vs. Green Bay
PFF Rankings: 4th offense, 31st defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Jets
It was the second time the Cowboys’ game went to overtime. Only this time, they didn’t walk out of AT&T Stadium with a win. The Cowboys vs the Green Bay Packers ended up with a 40-40 tie after both teams recorded field goals in overtime. The Cowboys’ offense played too well, as Dak Prescott completed 31-of-40 while throwing for 319 yards and three touchdowns. But Dallas’ struggles on defense were hard to overlook without Micah Parsons.

The Cowboys gave up 480 total yards—325 through the air and 164 on the ground—while allowing 32 first downs. The Packers converted a staggering 71% of their third downs. When you factor in the missed tackles and penalties, it’s clear that Dallas’ defense has been a major issue this season. With just one win, two losses, and one tie, the Cowboys will now face the Jets on Sunday, a team that’s been struggling with a sluggish offensive start.
21. New York Giants (1-3)
Last week’s ranking: 29
Week 4 Result: 21-18 win vs. Los Angeles Chargers
PFF Rankings: 24th offense, 14th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Saints
Brian Daboll and Jaxson Dart promised that they’ll win against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, and they sure did. Dart started his NFL career very well, completing 13-of-20 passes for 111 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 54 yards on 10 carries with one rushing score. While it’s too early to predict, if Dart continues to play well for the Giants, he can surely secure Daboll’s head coaching job. However, the Giants will not head to New Orleans, and Dart will be without his WR1, Malik Nabers, who’s believed to have torn his ACL. They’re sitting at 1-3, and could make it 2-3 in Week 5.
20. Minnesota Vikings (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 14
Week 4 Result: 24-21 loss vs. Steelers in Dublin
PFF Rankings: 21st offense, 16th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday 9:30 am vs. Browns (London)
Carson Wentz and the Vikings were coming after an absolutely dominant performance against the Bengals. But they fell three points shy of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin. The crystal? Well, Wentz put up another strong outing, and Kevin O’Connell showed his coaching brilliance. But it’s the injuries and the offensive line that cost the Vikings their second loss of the season. Wentz hurt his ribs, eyes, you name it.
He surely completed 30-of-46 yards for 350 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 picks, but the struggles were hard to ignore. The Steelers sacked him six times, and the quarterback was hit 14 times and pressured on 16 snaps. Final score: 24-21 in the Steelers’ favour. The Vikings now face the Browns in Week 5. It should be an easy win for Minnesota, but they’ll have to face the Browns’ top-tier defense.

19. New England Patriots (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 27
Week 4 Result: 42-13 win vs. Carolina
PFF Rankings: 15th offense, 30th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 8:20 pm at Buffalo
There’s no denying that the Panthers were a bad team in Week 4, but a win is a win for the Patriots. It was a complete team effort that powered New England to a 42-13 blowout at Gillette Stadium. Stefon Diggs tallied 101 yards on 6 receptions, helping the Patriots record over 200 passing yards. Marcus Jones made history in the process.
He tied Julian Edelman with the most 60+ yard punt returns in Patriots history (four) and became just the second Patriot ever to record multiple 60+ yard returns in a single game, a feat last done by Gunner Olszewski in his All-Pro 2019 season. Next up, they hit the road to face the Bills, a team that’s been an absolute force in the league so far.
18. Denver Broncos (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 17
Week 4 Result: 28-3 win vs Bengals
PFF Rankings: 30th offense, 18th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Eagles
The Broncos were efficient on the offensive as well as the defensive side of the ball on Monday against the Bengals. The team tallied 326 passing yards, thanks to Courtland Sutton, who caught 5 receptions for 81 yards and 1 touchdown. As for the Rushing attack, the Broncos piled up 186 rushing yards, thanks to a strong outing by Dobbins (101 yards on 16 carries). Denver currently sits at 2-2. However, considering the team’s going to face the Eagles in Week 5, we can expect nothing but the same offensive and defensive performance from Sean Payton and his crew.
17. Baltimore Ravens (1-3)
Last week’s ranking: 8
Week 4 Result: 37-20 loss at Kansas City
PFF Rankings: 11th offense, 25th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Texans
From the second quarter on, the Chiefs vs Ravens was a one-sided game. Unfortunately, the Baltimore team was on the other side of the win. It all started when over three minutes were remaining in the second quarter. Baltimore was trailing 13-7 but couldn’t convert a fourth-and-1 in their own territory. To make it trickier, Lamar threw an incomplete pass and handed the ball back to KC. Six plays later, the Chiefs racked up a touchdown, and the Ravens couldn’t make a comeback from there.
But the 37-20 loss wasn’t the worst news for the Ravens. It was the injuries. Jackson went down with a hamstring injury, along with linebacker Roquan Smith. On top of that, left tackle Ronnie Stanley hurt his ankle, CB Marlon Humphrey hurt his calf, and CB Nate Wiggins went down with an elbow injury. Heading into Week 5, the Ravens will play the Texans, who just shut down the Titans in Week 4. And with Lamar injured, the Baltimore fans should be concerned about their team.
16. Chicago Bears (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 19
Week 4 Result: 25-24 win at Las Vegas
PFF Rankings: 13th offense, 26th defense
Week 5 Matchup: BYE
The Bears, after dropping their first two games—an epic Week 1 collapse against the Vikings and giving away 52 points to the Lions in Week 2—have won two straight games, thanks to their defense and special teams against the Raiders. The Bears forced four turnovers, including three interceptions off the Raiders’ quarterback, and blocked a 54-yard field goal attempt to secure a 25-24 win on Sunday.
After the bye week, the Bears will face the Commanders in Week 6. Jayden Daniels is expected to return after missing the last couple of games due to a knee injury. The Bears surely ended the first month of the season with two wins; it remains to be seen how they’ll perform in Week 6.
15. Atlanta Falcons (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 21
Week 4 Result: 34-27 win vs. Washington
PFF Rankings: 10th offense, 17th defense
Week 5 Matchup: BYE
After an embarrassing 30-0 loss against the Panthers, the Falcons returned home and got a much-needed as well as an impressive win over the Washington Commanders. Heading into Week 4, the Falcons were an offense-struggling team. But that changed quickly against the Commanders. They went 6-12 on third downs, and the time of possession told the rest of the story: For 34:15 of the game.
Michael Penix Jr. was sharp, throwing for a career-high 313 yards on 20-of-26 passing with two touchdowns and one pick. But for the Falcons, this was just a warm-up. The real test comes after their Week 5 bye. In Week 6, they head to Buffalo, where the Bills are still undefeated and playing like they don’t plan on slowing down. Allen’s MVP-level play, Cook leading the ground game, and Khalil Shakir stretching the field through the air.
14. Washington Commanders (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 9
Week 4 Result: 34-27 loss at Atlanta
PFF Rankings: 8th offense, 24th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday 4:25 at Chargers
Plenty of reasons resulted in the Commanders’ 34-27 loss against the Falcons. For starters, Washington missed 12 tackles on Atlanta’s skill players, per PFF. Second, Matt Gay had a solid game as he made all four of his field goals. The real issue, though? Washington required him too often because their offense kept stalling before reaching the red zone.
For starters, Marcus Mariota got flagged for intentional grounding, which pushed them back from the Falcons’ 39-yard line. Zach Ertz committed a false start penalty on a short third-and-2, making it third-and-7 instead, which is much harder to convert. You name it. Now that they’re set to face the Chargers on the road, let’s just say there’s still time to bounce back, given that Daniels is expected to return soon.
13. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 15
Week 4 Result: 26-21 win at San Francisco
PFF Rankings: 17th offense, 4th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Monday 8:15 pm vs. Chiefs
Under first-year head coach Liam Coen, the Jaguars are still a work in progress, but a gritty defensive effort finally gave Coen his first NFL win. The defense forced four takeaways—three of them led to points, and one sealed the game. To put it in perspective, Jacksonville’s defense has recorded at least three takeaways in every game this season.
Devin Lloyd was the standout, finishing with three pressures, eight tackles, and two interceptions. On the offensive side of the ball? Well, the struggles were palpable. On third down, the Jags succeeded 4 times out of 14 tries. On top of that, Trevor Lawrence didn’t light up the box score (21-of-31 for 174 yards and a touchdown), but with the Chiefs on deck next week, he’ll be expected to turn it up a notch.
12. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 16
Week 4 Result: 24-21 win vs. Vikings in Dublin
PFF Rankings: 26th offense, 10th defense
Week 5 Matchup: BYE
The Steelers vs. Vikings Week 4 matchup didn’t look that dramatic until the fourth quarter. Pittsburgh led 21-6. But the Vikings racked up a couple of touchdowns to set up a nail-biting showdown in the first regular-season game in Ireland. Offensively, the Steelers were efficient. Kenneth Gainwell ran for 99 yards and racked up two scores.
DK Metcalf, meanwhile, had five interceptions for 126 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown. As for Aaron Rodgers, the 41-year-old completed 18 for 22 for 200 yards and a touchdown to Metcalf, securing his first NFL international win. After the bye week, the Steelers will take on the Browns. On paper, it might look like an easy win for Pittsburgh, but with Cleveland’s defense in the mix, the Steelers could be in for a tough fight.
11. Green Bay Packers (2-1-1)
Last week’s ranking: 11
Week 4 Result: 40-40 tie at Dallas
PFF Rankings: 9th offense, 3rd defense
Week 5 Matchup: BYE
For the first two weeks, the Packers looked like a legitimate Super Bowl contender. But right now, that’s hard to say. Green Bay walked out of AT&T Stadium with a 40-40 overtime tie, and much like Dallas, their defense came up short. The Packers gave up 436 yards, 6.7 yards per play, and had no answers for the Cowboys’ quarterback, who delivered a strong performance.
Their defensive unit managed just one sack when Parsons chased down Prescott in overtime to prevent a touchdown, along with only one tackle for loss. They struggled to create negative plays and, once again, failed to come up with a takeaway. With the Bengals waiting in Week 6 after the bye, the Packers need to fix their defensive issues fast if they want to keep Super Bowl hopes alive.
10. San Francisco 49ers (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 6
Week 4 Result: 26-21 loss vs. Jaguars
PFF Rankings: 7th offense, 11th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Thursday, 8:15 pm at Rams
Brock Purdy returned from the shoulder and toe injury from Week 1 and led the 49ers to their first loss of the season. While his numbers looked good on paper (22-of-38 passes for 309 yards, two TDs, and two picks), the issues were hard to ignore. Take that fumble, for instance. The 49ers struggled all game against the Jaguars, no doubt.
But a crucial fumble forced by former Niner Arik Armstead on Purdy handed the Jaguars the ball, letting them run down the clock with just 2:44 left in the fourth quarter. Add four turnovers from Purdy and a couple of picks, and you could bet that Purdy’s comeback wasn’t up to the mark.
To make it trickier, things are going to get tougher for Purdy and the Niners from here, considering the Niners will now face the Rams on the road in Week 5.
9. Seattle Seahawks (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 13
Week 4 Result: 23-20 win at Arizona
PFF Rankings: 2nd offense, 9th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday 4:05 pm vs. Bucs
With a 23-20 win over the Cardinals, the Seahawks have set a franchise record. With Jason Myers‘ game-winning kick, Seattle secured their eighth consecutive win on the road, thanks to a dominant defense. The Seahawks recorded six sacks, five tackles for loss, and two interceptions against Kyler Murray. Offensively, they’re efficient as well. Sam Darnold completed 18-of-26 passes for 242 yards and racked up one touchdown. After its third straight win, Seattle will now play the Bucs this Week, who just suffered a loss to the Eagles.
8. Kansas City Chiefs (2-2)
Last week’s ranking: 12
Week 3 Result: 37-20 win vs. Ravens
PFF Rankings: 14th offense, 12th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Monday 8:15 pm at Jaguars
There’s a reason the Chiefs dominated the league for almost a decade. KC fell behind by a touchdown following the Ravens’ opening series. But they then went on to score 20 straight points in the first half and didn’t punt for the first time until there was 3:35 left in the fourth quarter. Patrick Mahomes did what he does best.
The quarterback completed 25-of-37 passes for 270 yards and racked up four touchdowns, leading the Chiefs to their second-straight win, 37-20. The defense was efficient as well. The Chiefs forced two takeaways and three turnovers-on-downs. On top of that, the Ravens were held to just 3-for-10 on third downs. This week, Mahomes and his crew will line up against the struggling Jaguars, who just recorded their first win of the season.
7. Los Angeles Chargers (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 3
Week 4 Result: 21-18 loss at Giants
PFF Rankings: 12th offense, 7th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday 4:25 pm vs. Commanders
The Chargers started hot with three straight wins, but a major concern for Jim Harbaugh’s squad is now glaring: The offensive line. They’ve already lost Rashawn Slater for the season, and while Joe Alt initially stepped up to protect Herbert’s blind side, the 22-year-old left tackle went down with a high ankle sprain. To make matters worse, there’s still no timeline for Mekhi Becton’s return.

With a banged-up O-line, Herbert struggled, completing just 23 of 41 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. The Giants’ pass rush had a field day, hitting Herbert 12 times. Seven of those came from Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux alone. The result was the Chargers’ first loss of the season, a 21-18 setback.
They’ll now host the Commanders on Sunday, and if Harbaugh wants to keep his quarterback upright, fixing the offensive line has to be priority number one.
6. Indianapolis Colts (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 7
Week 4 Result: 27-20 loss at Los Angeles Rams
PFF Rankings: 5th offense, 23rd defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. the Raiders
It was bound to happen at some point. The Colts had gone turnover-free all season, but it finally caught up to them at the worst time. AD Mitchell caught an impressive pass from Daniel Jones, but fumbled out of the end zone. It cost the Colts seven points, which later turned out to be a 7-point loss. Meanwhile, Jones not only threw his first interception of the year, but he also followed it up with a second that sealed a 27-20 loss to the Rams.
Sure, the pass rush did its job (sacking Matthew Stafford four times and generating 32 pressures), but the mistakes were costly. The Colts racked up 11 penalties for 88 yards. On top of that, they had no answers for Puka Nacua, who torched them with 13 catches on 14 targets for 170 yards and a touchdown. The Colts will take on the Raiders in Week 5. While Vegas is coming off another loss, Indianapolis will have to deal with Crosby and Jeanty, both fresh off elite Week 4 performances.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0)
Last week’s ranking: 5
Week 4 Result: 31-25 loss vs. Philadelphia
PFF Rankings: 28th offense, 8th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 4:05 pm at Seahawks
Baker Mayfield can’t pull off a game-winning drive in every single game. The Buccaneers entered Week 4 to prove that they are one of the NFC’s elite, but got humbled on their home turf by the Eagles, 31-25. The reasons were plenty. For starters, Eagles’ special-teams unit blocked Riley Dixon’s punt and returned it for a touchdown to make it 7–0 early, swinging momentum Philadelphia’s way.
Besides, Mayfield threw a crucial interception in the red zone in the fourth quarter that killed Tampa Bay’s comeback push and swung the late-game field-position battle in Philadelphia’s favor. Add multiple injuries into the mix, and the Bucs had to endure their first loss of the season. At 3-1, the Bucs will face the Seahawks in Week 5, and they would surely like to avoid the mistakes.
4. Los Angeles Rams (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 10
Week 4 Result: 27-20 win vs. Colts
PFF Rankings: 1st offense, 2nd defense
Week 5 Matchup: Thursday 8:15 pm vs. 49ers
“We’re not a boring team to watch, I guess,” Sean McVay opened his press conference. And after their Week 3 loss, it’s easy to see why. The Rams bounced back with a 27–20 victory over the Colts, earning their third win of the season. Matthew Stafford had a standout performance, completing 29 of 41 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns. His 88-yard strike to Tutu Atwell with 1:33 left in the game broke a 20–20 tie and became the game-winning play.
The Rams’ defense was just as impressive, forcing three turnovers. Safety Kamren Curl stood out with two interceptions and nine tackles, including a crucial pick in the final moments that sealed the win. Up next, the Rams face a tough challenge against division rivals, the 49ers, on Thursday Night Football.
3. Buffalo Bills (4-0)
Last week’s ranking: 2
Week 4 Result: 31-19 win vs. Saints
PFF Rankings: 3rd offense, 21st defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday 8 pm vs. Patriots
Josh Allen and James Cook are making life look easy for the Bills right now. Thanks to those two, Buffalo’s one of only two undefeated teams this season. The Saints tried to hang, but in the end, it was a 31–19 loss. Allen was doing his MVP thing again: 254 total yards and three touchdowns. And Cook? The RB tallied 100 rushing yards for the third straight game.
As for the defense… well, it’s still a work in progress. They were missing Spencer Brown, Ed Oliver, and Matt Milano, yet they still held the Saints to just 109 passing yards. Sure, injuries are piling up, but considering the Bills’ schedule isn’t particularly tough right now, it’s not a deal-breaker. Up next, the Patriots.
2. Detroit Lions (3-1)
Last week’s ranking: 4
Week 4 Result: 34-10 win vs. Browns
PFF Rankings: 6th offense, 6th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday 4:25 at Cincinnati
After dropping their season opener, the Lions are on a roll, racking up their third straight win thanks to a defense that’s been flat-out dominant. Detroit’s defense forced three takeaways on Sunday, and the offense turned those into 17 points. That’s basically what swung the game in their favor. On top of that, the defense added three more sacks, bringing their total to 14 over the last three games.
On the offensive side, Jared Goff didn’t need to throw a million yards, but he was efficient. He went 16 of 27 for 168 and hit Amon-Ra St. Brown twice for touchdowns. St. Brown, meanwhile, continued to make his presence felt. Seven catches, 70 yards, and two scores. Looking ahead to Week 5 against the Bengals, if the Lions play like this, it’s going to be another grind where their defense sets the tone and the offense just knows how to capitalize. Simple formula, but so far, it’s working.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (4-0)
Last week’s ranking: 1
Week 4 Result: 31-25 win at Buccaneers
PFF Rankings: 19th offense, 5th defense
Week 5 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Broncos
In the past 365 days, the Eagles have dropped just one game. That was against the Commanders back in December 2024. Fast forward to Week 4 of 2025, and they kept their unbeaten streak alive with a 31–25 win over the Buccaneers. At the heart of it all was Jalen Hurts. The quarterback went 15 of 24 for 130 yards and two touchdowns, adding 62 rushing yards on nine carries to keep the Bucs’ defense guessing.

The Eagles were dominant early, jumping out to a 24–3 lead in the first half. Hurts was sharp, completing 15 of 16 passes in that stretch, including two touchdown connections with Dallas Goedert. And the special teams? They delivered a game-changing moment when Cameron Latu broke through to block a punt, setting up a 35-yard return touchdown that added some extra juice to the lead.
Up next, the Broncos. If the Eagles play like they did against Tampa Bay, a 5–0 start looks very much on the table.
