Why the Jaguars, you might ask? It is because Ngakoue was originally a 2016 third-round pick by Jacksonville. He recorded a career-high 12 sacks in 2019 and earned a reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous edge rushers.
Since leaving Jacksonville, Yannick Ngakoue’s career has taken him across the NFL, playing for seven different teams, including the Ravens, Patriots, Bears, and more. His most recent stint was with the New England Patriots, who released him last December.

While with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he quickly made a name for himself as a relentless pass rusher with explosive speed and strong technique off the edge. While someone else wrote, “He is a pass rusher, he wasn’t utilized correctly last stint in Baltimore, and he still got pressure & a couple of sacks being underutilized!!!” Ngakoue is known as a natural pass rusher, but over the years, he’s played for several different teams and in various defensive systems. Constantly adjusting to new roles and schemes didn’t always work in his favor. So this time, if he joins the Jaguars, knowing his strength results will definitely be in his and his team’s favor.

The fifth comment read, “Jacksonville misses you.” While the team itself has moved on and rebuilt parts of its roster, the enthusiasm from fans suggests that Ngakoue’s presence is still remembered fondly, and many hope for a potential reunion.
At 30 years old, Ngakoue remains one of the more experienced and intriguing free agents on the market. Now, all that’s left is to wait and see if he will return to the field soon and which team he ultimately chooses to join.
