Yannick Ngakoue, a fierce pass rusher, has hinted through his X account that he is still available on the market. As Week 6 approaches, injuries are starting to pile up across the league, and team executives are looking for experienced veterans who can step in immediately. For a proven defensive end with 48 career sacks, landing a roster spot shouldn’t be too difficult.

Ngakoue made it clear that he’s more ready than ever with a simple three-word message: “Ready to rush.” That short and powerful post quickly got fans buzzing. Looking at the comments, it’s clear that supporters of the Baltimore Ravens, and especially the Jacksonville Jaguars, are eager to see him back with their teams.

Why the Jaguars, you might ask? It is because Ngakoue was originally a 2016 third-round pick by Jacksonville. He recorded a career-high 12 sacks in 2019 and earned a reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous edge rushers.

Since leaving Jacksonville, Yannick Ngakoue’s career has taken him across the NFL, playing for seven different teams, including the Ravens, Patriots, Bears, and more. His most recent stint was with the New England Patriots, who released him last December. 

While he hasn’t played during the 2025 season yet, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that the veteran pass rusher could be eyeing a return very soon.

From 2016 to 2019, Ngakoue was a key part of the Jaguars’ feared defense, especially during their 2017 “Sacksonville” era, when the team made a deep playoff run and came within one game of the Super Bowl.

Yannick Ngakoue was known for his quick first step, high motor, and ability to force turnovers. He wasn’t just about sacks; he had a knack for stripping the ball from quarterbacks, creating game-changing plays that energized the defense and the fans.
