Travis Hunter Sr. didn’t fly out when his son, Travis Hunter Jr., hoisted the Heisman Trophy. For him, that wasn’t the finish line. That was just another step in a bigger plan. He’s always seen more coming for his oldest. He put it himself: “At the end of the day, I would always tell him he’s the best player anyway, so he’s got to go out there and play like it.” Travis Sr. wasn’t wrong. In April, his oldest went No. 2 overall to the Jaguars. A dream pick. Everyone figured Dad would be front and center when his son made his NFL debut against the Panthers. But life had other ideas. He was on probation, so showing up wasn’t an option this time around. Still, there’s more to come from the Hunters.

Travis Sr. has six sons. And in his mind, the story’s way bigger than just one debut. He believes that one day all of his boys will share the same field, playing in the NFL together. There’s no doubt he missed his oldest son’s first professional snap. But deep down, you can bet that he’s already looking to grab the opportunity when the other Hunter walks down the gridiron.
On a show named South Florida Boys Show, Travis Sr. talked about six of his sons eyeing to make their way to the NFL. “Travis Hunter Sr. has a total of 6 sons currently playing football and says that one day they will be playing together in the NFL,” the caption on the post shared on Instagram read. Things kicked off when Hunter Sr. started talking about his boys.

When asked how many of them are on the field right now, he didn’t hesitate: “Six.” And that’s where the whole conversation took off. Travis Sr. has got boys spaced out across different age groups. 16, 12, 14, and 22. And when he was hyped up with the idea that multiple of his sons could reach a certain milestone in the NFL, Hunter Sr. didn’t shy away and straight-up said, “They’re going to be at least five.”

“They’re going to be at least five, I’m telling you. Because all along, they look up to their brother. Now they know if he can do it, they can do it. And he push them like that. See Trayvis right now got a spotlight because he do the same thing. They grew up in the same exact house. They got the same mama. The other two that play, I got three kids when they born. That’s Trent, and Trevor, and Tray.”
Up until now, it wasn’t public. Travis Hunter Jr., born to Travis Hunter Sr. and Ferrante Harris, was the oldest of four. He has two brothers, Trayvis and Junior, and one sister, Taylor. But as his dad now confirmed, three other boys are also lining up to make their way to the NFL. Trent, Trevor, and Tray.
Trayvis and Junior are currently in their brother’s game. There isn’t much out there yet on Junior’s, Trent’s, Trevor’s, and Tray’s football path. But Trayvis, who’s five years younger than Travis, is already making noise at the high school level as a receiver. And while Travis Sr. is plenty optimistic about one day watching all his boys suit up in the NFL together, for now, he’s just soaking in the success of his oldest.
Travis Hunter’s two weeks in the NFL
When the Jaguars picked Travis Hunter with the second overall pick in April, their plans to utilize his talent without any doubt were palpable. He was going to play both sides of the ball. As a corner on the defense, and as a receiver on the offense. But now that the 2025 NFL season is a couple of weeks old, let’s take a look at the X’s and O’s of Travis Hunter.
The Jaguars kicked things off with a bang, torching the Panthers with a 26-10 win. Hunter, on the other hand, saw meaningful snaps on both sides of the ball. Week 1 numbers were not that eye-catching. The Colorado product finished his debut game with six catches for 33 yards and one tackle. But even after, Hunter made one thing clear: he’s energized to play, and he wants to win games for his team. “I was just excited and ready to go and win with my team and just bring the energy,” he said.

Considering the rookie primarily played on the offensive side of the ball, head coach Liam Coen confirmed that he’s planning to use Hunter more on defense. And he sure did. When Week 2 against the Bengals rolled in (lost 31-27), Hunter’s biggest showing came up. The rookie played 85 total snaps (43 snaps at corner and 42 as a wide receiver).

He completed 3 receptions for 22 yards and tallied a couple of tackles. “I was prepared for the moment, prepared to do my job – I just have to make a couple more plays,” he said after the game. With that being said, the Jaguars currently sit at 1-1. As Week 3 approaches, Travis Hunter is still likely to go out there and play both sides.
